  1. Might be a good deal for an L-24 build. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Weber-Triple-40-DCOE-Carburators_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33550QQihZ006QQitemZ160146271108QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Would this intake fit a set of Mikuni 44's as well or would it have to be ported out? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cannon-manifold-for-Weber-40-DCOE-Carburators_W0QQitemZ160146272908QQihZ006QQcategoryZ33550QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  2. So what's the part # at Autozone?
  3. Let's see that engine bay!
  4. I know there are versions of the 510 that are SSS "prepped" but was there ever an outside organization known as Speed Shop Shinohara and if so, what was the extent of their contribution to Datsun "history"?
  5. Nurse it to Daytona in Oct and canvas for some expertise there. That should be the place to get it.
  6. Saw on their website where they're offering a triple alternative to Webers, Dellortos and Mikunis in the form of S&Ks. Anyone have any more detail than what's posted?
  7. Wow, so these may have been intended to be used on an L-20 series motor? For better or worse, I'll probably keep looking for a more complete setup, thanks for the help.
  8. I was more curious about the ones with the Japanese inscription. I'm pretty sure they're all "from Japan", I wouldn't mind finding something unique to the JDM crowd that never made it over here.
  9. They look to be alot of work and I'm more of a "get as much intact as possible in instead of fixing someone elses bastardized failure" kind of guy. (From what I've been able to digest I want a Cannon long or a Nissan competition intake, something that runs straight without kinks) I didn't want to pass up an opportunity though to pick up something that might be unique or really worth something later on down the road.
  10. I'm considering piecing together a Mikuni 44 setup over the next few months and am curious if anyone can provide some info on these two intakes I saw on EBay, the seller doesn't have much detail on them from what I can tell. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Six-Pack-Manifold-for-240z-260z-Webber-Mikuni_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33617QQihZ013QQitemZ230152952662QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Six-Pack-Manifold-for-240z-260z-Webber-Mikuni_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33617QQihZ013QQitemZ230152950692QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  11. That ITB setup on the first Fairlady looks incredible.
  12. I wish I could laugh but that seems to be the gist of the story behind the two Zs I bought before owning my present car. I never got the real story until the ink started drying on the title...just like a swift kick in the...!!!
  13. I think Nissan is missing an opportunity in racing now. I see alot more Mazdas tearing it up on Speed than I do Nissans.
  14. Outstanding! The Western part of the US is just awesome when it comes to scenery. Congrats on making it to Cold Lake.
  15. For $40 this struck me as a bargain. Mine are in Dave's hands right now and if they're anywhere near the quality of his harnesses, I'm going to be a very happy man for another 30+ years. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24304&highlight=turn+switch
  16. Outstanding! I don't know what kind of situation you're but maybe just taking a half day or day off from working on it or around it would provide some releif? It was meant to be enjoyed after all.
  17. That is a beautiful car.
  18. How 'bout an update?
  19. I've seen a few over the last 22 years that I've been paying attention but there aren't many of them. The landau roof only seemed to creae a huge rust problem. So did Nissan offer a landau roof? There's a picture of a Z with one in that catalog. Dealer installed maybe?
  20. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-Datsun-240Z-rare-sport-package_W0QQitemZ260136162294QQihZ016QQcategoryZ6187QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem The theme song from Austin Powers immediately came to mind when I saw the roof, couldn't help it!
  21. First ride was in a 260 I bought in '86. If I had known then what I know now I never would have bought it but all I knew then was I wanted an S30 body style car. I went to Okinawa in '82 and S30s were the hot cars to have, even with the ZXs out. There were RX-7s, Skylines and Laurels but the S30s were the shizzle. Owned that 260 for 11 years, bought a trashed '72 in '91 that ended up at the crusher when I found my '73.
  22. Beautiful color, the green and blue metallics in the 240 are my favorites. (I've got a blue) Just curious, is modern paint resistant to oxidation? I get the impression a metallic is still alot of work to keep looking "metallic".
  23. If you get this in time and it suits your travel plans you may consider stopping at the Custer Monument in Crow Agency MT for an hour, well worth it. Also, you might think about taking the freeway from Billings to US89 right outside of Livingston MT and going north on it through White Sulphur Springs and Maverick. Much nicer scenery and you won't lose much time, should be beautiful this time of year. Finally, if you haven't already been, Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump just north of Ft McLeod AB is worth 90 minutes too. I miss long road trips in my Z but just don't have the stamina any more during the summer.
  24. Don't go through MSA, I got some Carter pump for about $100 at O'Reilly...it's not stock and there are challenges to mounting it but it flows a helluva lot more than stock for a helluva lot less than what MSA wants for one.
