What year is this from
I wonder how it ended up on one of the cars I have stripped, I did not keep track of which of the four it came from. The divider is quite rusted, i suspect it is because there was no light socket in the second hole to stop the water from getting inside.

What year is this from
So it is way too cold to work in my garage this week, so I opened a couple of part boxes to fix/clean/sort parts that I will use. While trying to piece together a pair of signal lights out of all the sad broken sets I have I came across one that is not the same as the rest. As seen in the photos it is the right one which has two bulbs and a divider between each half which fits into a slot on the lens. It has a IKI part number 3031 and the rest are 3005.

Suggested Maintenance on Half Shafts
I took mine all apart and varsol washed everything. Glass bead blasted all of the outside parts. Repacked the internals and repainted the blasted sections. It was very easy to do. This is what they look like now. Dan

Anyone looking for an uncracked dash from a 73 240z?
Bob: I am sure the only difference is the hazard switch, My 72 parts car has the toggle type and the 73 has the green lighted pull out type. Oh and as well the wiring harness will be different. Dan

No more sunroof
Arne: After looking at the pics, I would agree that cutting above the seam would be the best way to go. Cutting the skin off right at the original seams was by far the hardest part of removing the roof skins. I did drill a few holes to use as weld spots on the seam of the replacement so I think it will be stronger than a butt weld. Time will tell if any stress cracks show up in the paint. Dan

No more sunroof
After following the work Arnie had done to his car, I thought I would give it a try.:nervous:I removed the roof skin that had a sun roof and replaced it with one from a donor car. It went very well and only a day to complete. The first photo is of the sunroof on the car, second one is with the skin removed and the third is the "new" skin on the car. All that is left now is the rocker panels, floorboards, lower rear 1/4's, small parts of the firewall, spare tire well, and front rails.

1972 shell parts to give away
Joce: I would be interested in the lower front sections of the inner and outer rocker panels (the area you called the doglegs) for both sides. Z137, if you want we can share the shipping costs and I can come down to calgary and pick it up. Dan

I need everyones input on this one (Combo and T/S switches)
Dave: I had to get something out of the car, so I grabbed to switch. Here are a few photos of the 71,72 & 73 next to each other. The 71 & 72 look very much the same as far as the wiring and switches, you can see the different switch on the 73 as well as the connector. I did notice that the white icons and lettering on the controls is different for each year. Hope this helps. Dan

Alberta Boy
Dave: welcome, you will find this is by far the best site for help, information, ideas that you will come across. I am restoring a 73, have a rusted out 72 and have stripped two 71's for parts. It looks like we could possibly do some part trading sometime. Dan

I need everyones input on this one (Combo and T/S switches)
What is the build date of your switches pictured above me? I know you have or have owned a 71' and 72' and a 73'. But which ones which. Dave: I named the photos with their build date. First two are 6-71, next two are 7-71 and last two are 5-73. I have one for a 4-72 but it is still on the column under a tarp and in the car full to the top with parts. Let me know if you need that one I can possibly crawl into the car and pull it out. Dan

Replacing the roof?
Arne: I have a sun roof that I want to replace as well, photos of the work as it is being done would be great. Here is a web page I found showing the way I think I will try with my car. http://members.tripod.com/trueweb/Zcar/ About half way down the page there are a couple of good photos of the roof replacment. 1973 Fsm
Thanks everyone for the information. Escanlon, I was heading out the door yesterday when I replied to you question. The cover is orange with white lettering not yellow (not sure where I came up with yellow?). I will now give a positive feedback to the seller on ebay as the manual is in perfect condition other than the quality of the photos. Again thanks Dan

1973 Fsm
Escanlon: It is a pale yellow with white lettering. The cover looks just like any of the othe ones I have seen and the binding is very good. just the photos are vey dark. Dan

1973 Fsm
I bought a 1973 FSM on Ebay. It came in the mail this past week. If anyone has the 1973 manual could you let me know what the quality of the photos in the manual are? The one I have has very dark photos. Much like you get when you try to photocopy pages from a manual. Did I buy a well packaged photocopy of a original manual or was the quality bad from the first printing. The text and drawings are very readable, the photos not so much.

Loop pile carpet, any recent purchases? (2008)
Yes, let's talk about the metal clips. Now that I see them in Bonzi's picture, it looks like they have one curved leg that would press up against the tab on the floor. A neat idea. Now I want some too, so if anyone has a source for these, or has a set of 4 they'd like to sell, I'm interested. Arne: I have a set of four if you want them, PM me. They are in about the same condition as the ones that Bonzi Lon has. Dan
