  1. By bet is on the belts being loose.
  2. I have a set of 5-spoke slots, polished w/tires. PM if your interested.
  3. You came to the right place. Got pics yet?
  4. My headers are getting "thin," so they're due pretty soon I'm thinking. As for your TV, find a brick.....
  5. Two years ago I coated my 39 year-old headers with black BBQ grill paint. It's still there. And the headers DO get hot, especially at the track. No peeling, still looks good.
  6. Now the fun begins....

Patience, Grasshopper. 4 days is forever, I know, but stop to think a little bit. The three basics, air, fuel, spark. They all must come together at the same time to produce energy. You have the expertise of Yetterben with the Webers, and numerous others with the vagaries of timing. Take one of the three variables at a time and insure it is correct and proper. Good gas? 3 psi sounds fine, but is it filling your float bowls? Plug wiring correct with #1 pointed at the radiator? Are you jetted for San Antonio's altitude? A thousand questions. Use the search function and see what you can find. Good luck!
  8. Pretty Pretty!

I've seen one or two go to 300,000. But they were smoking a little bit at that stage of depreciation. Unless you want to familiarize yourself with the L26, you're probably good for at least another 60 - 75,000 without any significant issues.
  10. I think that's called a hatch guide and I think it's still available from Nissan.... or was about 18 months ago....
  11. Yeah, me, too! Gotta call Hagerty....
  12. The IMSA spoilers have the flat spot as well. A nice place for a bit of air brush art....
  13. She looks gorgeous! Enjoy the ride!!!
  14. I am curious if you got "your" dash back, or if they sent you one they had there? Did you mark the dash in any way to determine if it was actually yours when you got it back?
  15. I should have been more clear. The screwdriver should not contact the plastic, but used to pry against the rod adjacent to the plastic. My error.
  16. They pop off. Use a screwdriver to wedge them off. Unless they're unduly brittle, they won't break.
  17. Oh, yeah. Doug's got every tool imaginable. One of the most knowledgeable and hard-working Z wrenches on the planet. He does close to all of my work.
  18. I've had two friends have vibration damper failures on 2.8L engines. One is a stock '75, the other is a 3.1 stroker. Both wobbled as you've described. A new or refreshed damper solved their issues. I hope it's as simple for you! Frank

A friend of mine sent this to me. It's a bit old, but the car sure is pretty.... http://www.improvedtouring.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27544
  20. My tach is getting goofy. When I first owned the car prior to 1977 and with a 4 speed, 3500rpm = 70 MPH. 3000 = 60. Before I got the 5-speed and R-200 3.90, it was 4000 = 70. Age on electronics ain't pretty. Thinking of getting a refreshed one from Arizona Z....
  21. Hi, Trev. The first thing you should to is acquire a Service Manual. That should provide you with the information you need to diagnose and reconcile your problem.
  22. I had a similar situation about two years ago. Cruising on I-10, the car hiccupped and quit. Tach went to ZERO, engine died. I found a connector to the ballast resistor had come loose. Reconnected and off we go!
  23. are your carbs leaking? No. That's residue from fuel leaking out during start pumps. No leaks at all during operation.
  24. Among the responses you'll get here, you may want to check out www.hybridz.org. There are folks there that have tons of experience w/engine swaps of all types. I'm a carbie, and am unqualified to help you. Good luck!
