2008 Int'l Convention Sep 28 - Oct 3
The host club for last year has no responsibility for getting the stuff mailed out; the ZCCA does that. The website for the 2008 ZCON has always been available; check your typing or the URL you use.

Bull Run Coming in February
The program starts Feb 19 at 10 pm eastern on Speed TV, and they usually have it (all the stages) available online later This year's cars include: - 1967 VW microbus :beard: - 2008 Lexus IS250  - 1969 Chevy Camaro - 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera - 1970 Dodge Dart :ninja: - 1971 Detomaso Pantera - 2003 Ferrari 360 Spider - 2007 Chevy Avalanche - 2001 Chevy Corvette :disappoin - 2007 Shelby Super Snake - 2006 Pontiac Solstice - 2006 Mitsubishi Evolution  Sorry, no Z but I don't think I would want to go through their driving challenges if they are similar to the last time ( like smashing a glass pane with your sail panel.) Last time the Lotus team kept hitting big rocks (in the road!?) with the front spoiler; not what I'd want either. Hopefully they will have a team of smart, level-headed guys that will win. Getting lost, running out of gas or mechanical breakdowns are fine but the in-car personality conflicts/drama get old very fast, and you get tired of it after a few days.

Removing throttle linkage fromn engine
How can you get the throttle torsion rods off the intake on a 280Z? I got a tin-zinc plating setup so I can plate exposed parts like that. thxZ

Restoration... Should I go all the way?
The suggestion of a "full restoration (ie frame off type, bead blasing etc)" was in the initial post. no worries

Have you figured out how to connect the tacho, or the ignition coil and distributor?

Restoration... Should I go all the way?
I didn't know a 240Z had a frame... How would you do a frame-off restoration on a unibody car? IMO, the best you could do is take the engine out, remove all the undercarriage stuff, gas tank, interior, etc., put it on a rotisserie, and then go at it from there. BTW- don't forget to get & print a copy of the "240Z restoration manual."

Side Stripes..before and after
I think the stripes look nice, but the question then would be how high (or low) on the side to put them? Is there a usual place? IMO along the bottom edge of the door. thxZ

need help removing fi wiring
You won't be able to use the fuel pump from the fuel injection system. You'll need one that delivers low-pressure or the mechanical one that the earlier models used.
-
zx fuel pump into a z
Check the condition of the rubber hoses that connect to the fuel pump too. those are likely to fail. Check all the rubber hoses on the high-pressure lines.

280 tail light panel ?
If you are referring to the chromed surrounds on the 280Z tail light units, those are part of the unit, and I don't know if they can be separated from the colored lenses. I suppose you could cut out the colored lenses to leave just the chromed parts, but IMO, it's too much of a bother. You may just add chrome striping or something. The design of the 280Z taillights is so that they are attached to and stand out that much from the panel. If you could provide a good photo or two, like a close-up of the taillight area, maybe someone can suggest how to get to your goal. Is there a website maybe? thxZ

New Club DVD!
That last post was six months ago.... How goes it Will? Will it all fit on ONE DVD? just wondering... I'd probably put in my order now if it helps, or would you prefer a six-pack? thxZ

New stereo, no guages. HELP please.
You're using a AA battery to run your clock? There must be a better way; the oem wiring should have a constant power feed from the battery to the clock, the hazard switch, cigarette lighter (on a 78) and probably several other places. On my '78, I was able to use the oem radio plug for amp power, ground, and lights. You have speaker connections there too, but I connected directly to the radio with new wires for those.

Honda Wiper Motor Upgrade for the 240Z
I remember those little black knobs that you could get at auto parts stores, over by the CB radios... I have 3 or 4 electronics books with a couple of those circuits in each one.

Honda Wiper Motor Upgrade for the 240Z
I'm confused about all the 'delay' stuff. By delay, you mean the adjustable intermittent timing, like newer cars have? I"m satisfied with the oem intermittent setting, so if that works plus slow & fast, I'll be happy. I'm going to take my linkage out again over the winter, and not only clean things, but I'll try to polish the axles and put in a sealed bearing for the middle. I found out that the metal shims were rusted and bent, so the wipers were jittery, but I put it together for ZCON anyway. thxZ

2008 Int'l Convention Sep 28 - Oct 3
And the answer is: 1st generation Stock: 3rd Place: Larry Loftin 2nd Place: Charlie Osborne 1st Place: Laverne Burkhart That's all I can tell you ZHead240. Classes were not broken down into individual models, so 240Zs were in with the 260Zs and 280Zs thxZ
