Anyone have a set of these Spinners?
I finnally found a great price on these spinners and bought em 3 dollors, how about that! There not directional like mine but they are the ones I needed for the passenger side (Top spoke facing forward). and I even found two matchin center cap emblems aswell with the plastic covering over them just like my drivers side so my missing 2 spinners is now complet again all in two days! Ebay ad says this set of spinners came off a '66 mustang but ohwell, as long as they screw on. And the emblems off a 79-81 280ZX for $10. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=016&viewitem=&item=260198913964&rd=1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=017&viewitem=&item=270197239272&rd=1 ~Z~

The State of Things....
OK yo, here it is. The invoice from memory. Clutch kit ~ $250 Slave cylinder ~ $50 Master cylinder ~$70 Resufaced Flywheel ~ $xx Diff Fluid ~ $60 Tranny Fluid ~ $60 Brake Fluid ~ $15 Diff lube ~ $xx Tranny lube ~ $xx and pretty much the rest of it was 4 to 6 hours worth of lobor fees. Totol ended at $1117.16 Basically they had to replace everything associated with the clutch. It was all bad and the Slave Cylinder was leaking too. Was told it shifts well again like new and the tranny is fine with a little metal shavings in the fuild which I had them check for, Diff fluid is fine. Same peddle feel and travle as before though was maintained. Just need to pick her up and see for myself now ~Z~

I've been in an accident!
O course hope you get well soon and take it easy. For the pain usually a nice good Whalers Vanille Rum works, or either Coconut flavored http://www.whalersrum.com/index-flash.html Be sure to have someone yak off that Cherry Bomb muffler and other racer parts too before you send the neon to the crusher. ~Z~

The State of Things....
After doing some further research on the forum I think I got SHAFTED!!!! I ran into a post that said $530 was normal with $350 in lobor and $150 for parts for a new clutch change. And no the price was not for brakes too, those are coming from the same place I got tires at Les Schwabb. But the $1087 clutch price comes from ATCO Transmission. There better be a good reason for this  I'll update ya in the morning, Hot DARN IT I BETTER BE SUPRISED WITH RACE PARTS AT THAT PRICE ! ~Z~

The State of Things....
Yikes!! The work was just finished today and the guy said she works fine now. I'm not sure what all they did yet but I get the invoice tommorow morning. Ther original qoute was $630for all the above aforementioned minus the new Master and Slave cylinder which was not known to be needed yet. With $500+ of the 630 being just for lobor. But what should the price have been though?

The Exhaust Debate
Thats a clean Z Bro Excellent execution. Liking the sceanery on the 2nd pic too for sho! Does the centered exhaust cause any problems with the heat being to close to the gas tank? Always wondered bout that and how to pull it off. The twin stack is the best IMO but I love the slash cut styles. Did have a Orange ANSA that was similar to yours though. ~http://s170.photobucket.com/albums/u280/Wingzr0/ANSA%20RESONATOR%201970s%20NOS%20%20%20Slash%20Cut%20Twin%20Tip/?start=all ~http://s170.photobucket.com/albums/u280/Wingzr0/Partz%20stuff%202nd/?start=all ~Z~

I heard nothing but good points, especially on this 2nd page so far. But personally I like the weekend format better (Friday/Thursday-Monday). Another example is a counter I have which tracks visits on my Ebay auctions. Monday through Wednesday gets 13 hits a day in traffic and Thursday has a little bit of a boost. But Friday Saturday and Sunday spikes up to around 50, 70 or 100+ a day most times. And it's true what they say about the peak being from 7pm to 10pm. During those times people look 20 to 30+ an hour. Other hours are around 5 to 10 visits. As for media I place classifieds on a few online car clubs aswell as my favorite here and that also helps boost traffic on weekends and throughout the week! Course those numbers depend on whats being sold like an Extreamly Rare NOS '71 JDM TA/22 Celica GT badge I bought with 30 hits on auction for $40. (a Celica was going to be the 2nd car after the Z ^^) I turned around and had to sell it and got $291.56 for it running a 10 day auction with classifieds placed on 5 Celica online club forums and the auction had 2000+ HITS ! LSS (Long Story Short), weekends jus seems to be the natural time when people come out to play espescially for something COOL as a car show, after all who doesn't like having fun on Saturdays As for the long distance travlers who need longer travel time I see they're point of view too, but flip a coin and eitherway you win or lose evenly as long as you have your strategy and planning right. ~Z~

Performance Camshafts?
Whats wrong with pulling 6-8K ? I believe this gives some of us hope for taking on the "Deep Pockets". See RED Dog, you don't need a high paying job to get those Porsche Bums but with cams what do you guys prefer, Low end torgue or Top end power?

Performance Camshafts?
I'll stick with original plan getting her running right and hunker down till spring but thats more than what I knew. Always seen the vents on all S30's, most likely hood replacements can explain that occurance :bandit: They was along with you on the stock EFI not good though. The body guy has a 240Z and was telling me to go with Triplle webbers for real performance :tapemouth 240 and 260Z's are great for cams but with 280Z's we're taliking Fuel Pump Flow Rate, Dizzy and Injector Size upgrades are we? ~Z~

Whatever you're smokin, mail me some  ! Hey, how about a montly art contest? Photo shop, hand drawn or what ever. Also I think there was a thread/forum somewhere for Datsun memorbilia or collectibles were they. I like to see more of that stuff if we have it Edit ~ ~ The word Convention apperently flew over my head there OK, section for art and another for collectibles to buy sell but mainly those for historical display and reffence. I have a few rare key chains for example where the desing is the same but one is from I believe England, my 2nd yellow one, which has a makers mark of a royal crown on the back when the others does'nt. And another is a totol upgrade from the rest being the fact that it's Black with matching Black chain link from the fob to keyring. This type of place would be great for getting historicle reference and puttin together a history persay of the collectibles along with who made them and the variations ~Z~

Performance Camshafts?
This thread is hitting on some good ideas I was at Les Scwab Tires getting my new 215/60/14's mounted and Roy, who was putting them on, hipped me to Nakatsu's Garage when telling him I was off to the tranny shop next. He suggested Nakatsu would be better than the $700 qouted by ATCO and that he works on Z's specifically. Nakatsu is the owner and "Cheif Wrench" and has been working on Domestic and Imports for 15+ years and owned a few Z's like the 260Z. I figured he knew his stuff cause he thought my '77 was a '76 from the hood vents. His shop really specializes in race and custom stuff. They do everything from paint to engine and body work. There was a '64 El Camino gutted and getting the shaved body treatment when I walked in . LSS (Long Story Short) after shooting the breez with him and his experince over an hour, I'm leaning towards a MSA Cam Upgrade Kit for $549 instead of just the valve adjustment I need. I like the MSA 10-2004 cam .495 Lift / 290 Duration. Rough Idle. Mid range and top end power cam. More similar to whats been discussed, and problely more reasonable, is 10-2003 .460 Lift 270/280 Duratrion Pulls hard from 3,000 to 6,000 RPM. I really like the "COMPETITION ONLY" .620/.624 Lift 304/318 Duration cam though :laugh::tapemouth Power from 4500 to 8500 RPM. Of course with 6 into 2 header and maybe 2.5 inch diameter down pipes. ~Z~
