Is it just me having a bad week or would anyone else feel a little annoyed at finding Photos of their car copied out of their Gallery photo album and pasted in someone else's album with new names on them. If the photos had a description "RB30-ZED's car" it might be ok. Im i being to picky? Steven
  2. Only laughing with you Brett,, really i could imagine sitting there thinking thank god ive stopped then looking out to see my long lost wheel heading home.
  3. Oh no, thats not the way you want to finish the day, but your ok. Would have been worse on the Hume hwy. How many 240's did you get there, and do you think you ran another day ? Steven

  8. I fitted some good but not Genuine Ball joints and found that with the car jacked up that they would bind up before turning to full lock. They might have been ok as you dont normally turn to full lock with your wheels off the ground, but i changed them for Nissan joints at $70AU trade, and they worked fine.
  9. Well Gav, if you spend your day fixing old VW Kombi's and Beatles you dont want to do it on the weekends too. And looking back it was a bloody good idea too. Steven
  10. Ive been a motor mechanic since 1978, working on V.W. Audi Fiat Lancia and Subaru for the first seven years, then I looked after cars trucks cranes and various bits of plant for a power supply company until six years ago, when I started teaching apprentice motor mechanics (car and truck) with TAFE (Technical and further Education) in NSW. It was working on V-dubs that made me buy a Datto for my first car.
  11. Id love to go,,,,,,but what if you only get 10 takers ,will cost me $300

Im always serious Its my only worry as i hammer around a long corner watching the oil pressure gauge, waiting for it to suck up a gut full of air. It might never happen but id like a bigger capacity sump all the same. Sorry I don't have any good pics of the sump, but I used the front section of a RB30 powered Nissan Patrol 4WD, the centre of a VL Commodore and a shortened rear section from the VL, three sections and no leaks, just good luck I think. Hi Drunkenmaster I love Sump number 2, where can i get it? Steven
  14. Hi Andrew, yes go ahead. Its actually the proportioning valve. Undo the plug in the bottom of the valve and remove the copper washer and spring, then give it a good tap down on a soft wooden block to remove the piston. Steven

Marty is 100% correct about the risk of the compression rods breaking. My old 510 did just that. With the hard bush in the front and rear it puts more stress on the machined step that locates the front washer coursing them to break at the step. I now only run one hard bush in the front (compression) and a rubber one in the rear. Im not saying that it will happen with all hard bushes but it has happened. Id go for the Delrin cup type or rose joint. Steven

  19. Let us know how you go with your search Brett, im running around with out a spare too. Steven
  20. You may be able to use steering arms of another model, but dont forget you would also have to relocate the radius rods from the rear to the front,,,, its not worth it. Steven
  21. Don't forget that the 240 has its rack in front of the cross member, so you cant use a rack that was originally installed behind the cross member as it will turn left when you turn right. Steven
