  1. Al, Actually I am looking for the filler brackets on either side of the front bumpers for a 1973. Thanks Chuck
  2. That does look sweet. Good luck replacing the door skins.
  3. Was it just the bumper on the mounting brackets on either side? Congrats on the new bumper. My bumper looks great after I got it straightened and recromed, but I can not find the mounting brackets.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190058934310&fromMakeTrack=true Hey guys, I am interested in starting a new project and I saw this link in a previous post. Do you think that I could be worth restoring?
  5. mimregi, I had to combine 2 underdash wiring harness to make 1 solid one. I have a '73 as well and unfortunately, the harnesses are not interchangeable. I spent $50.00 on each of mine. I ended up throwing the original one away. It was cut and splice 37 times. I also had to do that to the engine bay and body harness. The price is a good one. Hopefully it is not too butchered. Good luck
  6. Good luck with your '73. I own one. It may be a bit different than the 70-72, but once you get them running well, it sure is fun. There is a guy in Houston that has 7 z's for sale. He is very selective on who he will sell them to. In other words he has not sold one for 3 yrs. Several people have asked. They are parked outside and getting rusty, but he wants them to go to people that will restore them and not tear them apart. The guys name is Ken and he is out in Stafford, TX.
  7. That car must of been in the desert or something. First time I have seen floorboards look that good in non restored mode. Good luck. The 73 is a bit of an odd year. You should use these forums as much as you can. There are alot of good people that are willing to help someone in need.
  8. I agree with most of you on the paint and steering wheel. I think that most of us feel that the 240 is racey and flashy enough without the added crap of flames and alum. steering wheelLOL
  9. I got mine off of ebay.
  10. If you have a clear fuel filter. Passanger's side towards the radiator. You should be able to tell if you have junk in it and if you have fuel going to the carbs. If you have the dual su carbs, just remove the screw from the top of the carb and giggle it around and see if you hear the float causing the jets to push fuel into the carbs. Pretty easy if you dont have any tools laying around.
  11. Arne, My '73 manual tranny has both the neutral switch and the reverse light coming from the underneath of the car, just as both Steve and Bruce suggested. I have the same pic, but will not post.
  12. Arne, I hope it doesnt rain much in your part of Oregon. I drive mine each time I want to work on it. I do not have a garage at home that can accomodate 3 cars, so I keep my z in a garage.

Just like I thought. They did not have them. They sent me contact information on some folks that may have the item. I will check to see if they have it or I will have to drive my car about 45 miles away and talk to my friend Ken. He has 6 240z's that he is parting out. He may still have them. It is a beautiful day in Houston, but I am afraid of driving her without bumpers.

Dean, I am over 6'5 and 245 lbs. I just barely fit into my z. There are certain smaller sports cars that I can not fit into. The new 350z, there is no way that I could drive a car like that for any long period of time.

I had the same thing happen when I bought my '73, but I only paid $700.00. I have over 5k into her now and I am not finished. The floor pans and the drivers door were completely gone. No issues with firewall. Is the cobra in you photo an original or a kit? I am interested in building a kit cobra, but I am not sure if I would fit into the car.

Thanks for all of the information. I only have the two pieces. The mirror and the the piece with the square piece to fit the mirror. I did not screw the screws in all the way, because it made if impossible to install the mirror. Not much room for the mirror to be installed. Thanks again for all the help. Chuck

The rear view is mounted directly to the metal on the roof of the car. I am using the 3 screws provided. They are a bit long and the it is a bit loose.

Hey, I am looking for the thing that holds the sunvisors in place. During my restore, I lost mine, I guess. I can not find what it looks like and I do not have a good sence as to what to look for. I have tried ebay, motorsport and my local junk yards. Please help
