  1. You can't find which ground wire? the one on the top or bottom?
  2. Cam timing was my first thought also. We used to screw around with offset cam sprocket keys in V8s(drag racing). A few degrees can make a noticeable difference. Also I once installed a Toyota timing belt 1 tooth off. oops. Gotta love non interference engines. The engine had little bottom end power but at 3500 rpms & above it acted like it wanted to rev to 8000. I didn't try it. Check out the cam timing & eliminate that possibility.

Good news, I called Power Torque (Central ), and discussed the issue with this part # for the earlier Z cars. The guy on the phone (Dave) was suprised to hear about the difference in measurement from earlier and later models, and glad I called this to his attention. He went to the warehouse and grabbed two new kits and confirmed that they indeed did not include the carrier. We discussd how without the carrier, this kit is useless to owners of earlier models. He is making changes in the packaging to include the carrier, or at least make it avail. Innthe mean time, he is shiping me a new carrier overnight at no charge. Can't say enough about how impressed I am with the customer service I recieved today. They deffinatley earned any future buisness I can give them ;o)
  4. It's not common but have you confirmed that the CSV is closed and not leaking while the engine is running? It's fairly easy to remove, pull it out and run the fuel pump and see what it does. Or block the hole and start the engine. I had a similar problem diagnosing my bad FPR and I've seen others with the same. The pressure will read correct, but the diaphragm leak allows fuel to pass through and in to the vacuum hose, on to the intake manifold. In my case, the FPR was only malfunctioning when it got hot. I never did figure out what, exactly, was causing it. But when mpg dropped to 15, in one day, I swapped FPR's and fixed it. Do you have a performance cam in that head? Head work, plus cam, plus no vacuum advance = low mpg, poor low RPM performance.
  5. Well, since there was no seats in the car he didnt want to put it on the dyno. So he timed it and synced the carbs as close as he could. It sounds a whole lot better. Its at the body shop now getting the fenders and hood installed. In the mean time I ordered my seat covers from MSA and will be working on those while the car is gone.
