Just curious what kind of radio everyone has in their Z. Any type of custom speakers?CD players?

I am shopping around for a cd player and new speakers.

its a sony explode cd player, works well, replaced the stock speakers with polk audio units i bought on ebay

sounds great for what it is

My car is too noisy for a good sound system. I added another speaker, but they are only 6" size and that doesn't account for much sound! I had a Sony cassette system (for sale, PM me) and I am in the quest for a stock AM radio. I also have an AM/FM radio - PM me. I bought a Hitachi 8 track for that nostalgic approach, but I need something to amplify and the plug is wierd. Anyone who knows what to do with a Hitachi 8track player for Datsun - let me know!

Can you see out of your rear view mirror with that speaker box in the back?

Just wondering :cheeky:

Hmm, if in a crash, a tissue box from the parcel shelf of a car has the force of a brick, and can break a windscreen/crack a skull, I wonder what a sub box could do. I hope they are all bolted down well. Can you turn it up flat out without getting enough bass to stop your heart, or pop your windows?

ROFL

just a regular Pioneer CD player...something to listen to the tunes on. it's a detachable face unit

I have also put Pioneer 150W speakers behind the factory speaker covers, so on the inside, it all looks stock. I am also one of those who REFUSE to cut holes in the door panels and put speakers in the door.

The thing I really like about how my stereo install came out...I still have manual control of the antenna. I have moved the swith since this picture was taken, but it still works the way it should

Pioneer Radio

LOL....

i get soo much crap from you Z guys about my subs...

they are rotated that way for the picture.. usually they face the rear window.... (the sound pressure get sexy in that little space) and I can feel the bass rather than hear it necessarily, so I can "feel" like i'm at a concert.

WIth the box rotated, I can see out of the back window very easily, only about 3 inches is obscured.

and in an accident my subs aren't going anywhere... the strut towers are in the way.

PrOxLaMuS,

If you ain't DEAF yet, man you soon WILL be.

Here in the great Land Down Under you'd be a dead cert to get pulled up by the boys in blue with that set up mate.

Rick.

You didn't have an option for no stereo, "sound system by flowmaster".

:classic:

Bw

I got a JVC CD AM/FM with a CD changer and two MTX boxed speakers. No amp. I think it sounds fantastic. I love the remote control and keep it in my shifter hand at all times!

I drive faster with the Foo Fighters playing. Maybe I should try easy listening?
