I went to mock up my transmission and it looks like I have a different crossmember attachment. This is a series 1 240z... I have two trans crossmembers but they have the horizontal bolt style. Not sure why the previous owner would toss it.

Is there an aftermarket one I can buy? Or do I have to dig for gold to hope to find one of these?

I have an early 1972 car (HLS30-46372) with a build date of 9/71 that has been a restomod project. I needed a tranny mount because I cannot find the original mount -- a not inconceivable situation considering this project has been ongoing for almost 15 years.

I found someone in the Atlanta area who offered to sell me a mount for $80 but the guy turned out to be a scammer. Beware of those A-holes.

I ordered a new tranny mount from Techno Toy Tuning (T3). It is a gorgeous piece of machined aluminum.

There was just one problem: It did not fit my car as it was too wide; i.e., the slotted mounting point holes are a nominal 310 mm apart. However, my car's mounting points are a nominal 280 mm apart. Interestingly, the mount does fit my other 1972 car (HLS30-81416, build date 5/72).

After several conversations with folks at T3, the owner, Gabe Tyler, offered to both design and build a steel mount to fit my 'unicorn' car. That work is in progress and I hope to have the part by the end of June.

So, my first advice to you is to measure the distance between your tranny mount points on your car so you know what you need. You might have a unicorn as well. Secondly, be sure to deal with reputable folks when sourcing parts. Thirdly, if you need a 280 mm mount and I find my original tranny mount soon, or if the 310 mm mount in my other car will fit your car, it's yours for a nominal cost.

This might be interesting. Nissan calls that mount an engine mount. Looks like the auto mounts are different from the manual mounts.

It's really weird I have photos of this car from the '80s and it was a manual transmission but the mount looks to be up automatic. I wonder if early in production they change this car to a manual for some reason. Regardless I need to find a mount

Very interesting, I just measured center to center of the mounts and its 11.5 inches or 292 MM. I almost might just fabricate one myself. im not looking for this car to be OEM.

Word police here! It's not clear that everyone is talking about the same measurement. Also, not clear that any of the measurements are from the car body. The holes.

The measurement between these two mounting locations is about 292mm for my car, 1970 240z. The nuts do move so there is a ~ 5mm movement there.

Would you be able to measure the how much drop the center of the mount, where the transmission bushing bolts to and the mount surface is? i think i just have to make one. The distance im pointing to in yellow. im sure its not much. something like 5/8.

If it will fit, you're welcome to have my OE tranny mount. But I'll measure that drop tomorrow and let you know. I suspect a 1/8" flat steel bar would work just fine but wouldn't look as nice.
