Does anyone know where I can get the bottom piece under the door striker? I think it is called a spring loaded door stopper. I have seen some cars without them are they necessary?

I believe he is looking for the spring stopper that bolts to the bottom not the actual latch strike itself.

Odd, I don't see the lower part on eBay at all. Lots of the upper striker and dove tails but not the popper part. 

I have some used ones if you are interested.
