Used Aluminum Brake Drums

Featured Replies

I have two used aluminum brake drums from an early 260Z.  The drums have some life left.  Do they have any value?

Thanks

Measurement of the inside diameter and pictures of the surfaces will tell the story.  There's a limit, it's marked on the drum itself.

Borrowed this from an eBay ad.  He wants a lot but didn't provide the critical information.  A shop won't turn a drum beyond the limit.

As close as I can measure, the ID of each drum is 9.0625" (9 1/16").  Would anyone be interested in these drums at this dimension?

I believe he's taking about friction part thickness, how much meat they have left that can be cut smoothe to go next to the drum brake shoes.

OE aluminum drums are hard to find that do not have broken fins.

These drums do not have broken fins.  The drums are still in spec but not by much.

If you know someone with a vapor blasting cabinet, they will clean up very nice. Check completed items on ebay to see what they sell for. Its getting hard to find decent anything for z cars!
