sound deadening ?

Featured Replies

Replacing the interior of my 280z once it’s done getting painted. I might have to replace the floor panel on drivers side. Passages I’m not sure. If I don’t have to replace the passengers side floor panel is it worth removing all the sound deadening and replacing it? 68ab9df1f3e82c2975f6079323f506f8.jpg

In my opinion, if your already getting the driver side replaced, pull up the passenger section and check how it is. It’s better to know what’s under.

I replaced the sound deadening with something like dynamat.

Looks like I’ll e getting some freeze cans. I had some air duster cans that worked well to.3aa9ea2db3cfa225c52704decb6f3abb.jpg

Get a few pounds of dry ice. Let it sit for a couple minutes, then smack it with a hammer. Works great. Fun, too.

Goof Off (not Goo Gone!) will take off any residue. It's one of the stronger solvents you'll find on store shelves, take proper precautions.

I used Silent Coat mass loaded vinyl on the floor with some 3mm closed cell foam over the top. Works beautifully and gives a cushioned feel below the carpet too!
