did 280zx turbos have limited slips stock?...i remember hearin something to that effect a while back.

87-89 300ZX Turbo's are the only "Z's" that came with LSDs.

You'll want to avoid the 1988 300ZX SE (All White) as it came with an oddball VLSD (Viscous Limited Slip Dif.)

The Late 300ZX's (Z32) have R230 VLSD which, after a lot of modifcation, can be put in an early "Z."

what you need if your in the US hehe, is 87-89 tubo 300ZX differential, if you had an R200 originally then you woldnt need the mustache bar and the like with that swap, 280ZXT CV shafts are best and will work with the 240Z as well.

you do want to keep the finned pan though some take it off but i wouldnt want to lose the extra fluid that comes with the LSD from the turbo cars.

nissan made it that way for a reason.

you can buy a bar that will allow the finned cover to be used and it looks great.

The 300zx your talking about is it the Z31 or Z32? I'm pretty sure your talking about Z31. We got some 300zx (Z31 Turbo's) here in Australia as well as the California edition 300zx (smoother Lines).

I'm not sure where to start looking for a LSD for my Z and if we even got them here in Australia. The harder part will be obtaining the CV's off the 280zx Turbo as we did not get the 280zx turbo here in Australia which also brings me to the question why not?

looking externally to the differential, how will you diffentiate a clutch type from a vlsd.

From the outside there might be a tag stating it is a viscous. If you have to pull the cover check out this site.

Hey Brett I'd love one and thanks for letting me know however I have a few other expenditures for the car at the moment and although I'd love one it wouldn't be sensible to install it when it's not broken if you follow me.

However if I get those things done I have to make a check list and I manage to get some cash together I'd be very interested a couple of questions though.

Do you know roughly how much he wants for one?

Is there any fabrication needed to fit one?

last time i spoke to him they were about a grand, they go straight in, half shafts and all. they look identical to the non LSD r200's. they come out of R31 skylines GTS's.
