Second Owner Of A '71 240Z

Featured Replies

Hi Mark,

Welcome to the club.

You're fortunate to have sourced such a treasure...right place/right time; not to mention having your Dad's wisdom at hand.

As an original owner of a '71, like a few other members, I'm  curious to know the production date and serial number.

Wishing you lots of enjoyment

George

Hey Mark,

Cool story, that's a very nice and original 240Z you got there !

Have fun with it !

Thanks for all the comments everyone!

The VIN is HLS30-20055. I have the paperwork at home with build date but I wont be home for another month.

Sweet looking car and great find.

Nothing against the mod but I'll counter the electronic ignition item with this: my car has 95k miles, still the original dizzy and fresh points, rotor, ...etc.  Its runs great and dependably pulls all the way to high RPM's; it is strictly a street car.  For track, AX, or other events the electronic ignition may be the way to go.

+1 on the VIN and build date question above.

Great looking car.

I am with Jim on this.

I love the simple old school ignition.

You just keep a few spares with you and you always get home.
