I am looking for a gas tank for my 76.

My tank was extremely rusted inside and out and after cleaning out and attempting to coat the inside of the tank I am left with a few leaks.

Anyone had any luck with patching or sealing small holes in their tank? or should I just get a new one.

Really not looking forward to paying for a new tank if there is another option.

I've read POR 15 fuel tank sealer then POR 15 on the outside will fix a tank if it's really bad, lots of work though and probably $100 worth of materials.

I will look into the POR 15. I coated the inside of the tank but it appears that it did not work well enough to seal all of the holes.

Any thoughts on a $300 tank on ebay vs a $600 tank on ebay that has been boiled and sealed?

Also, is there a quick repair fix that I can try until I get a chance to get a new tank. I know this depends on the size of the hole but just looking for additional suggestions.

Any body try the spray seal stuff or JB weld.

Rad shops often do gas tank work as well. If the holes are isolated to one area, they'd likely weld a patch over the entire area. If you have holes over a larger area, time for a new (to you) tank.

I don't believe anyone has found a source for "new" tanks at this point.

Also be aware that 77-78 tanks do not fit the 75-76 cars.

Find a good second hand tank, don't put your life at risk here..
