SU's from 2,4L to 2.8L

Featured Replies

Can I take a set of SU's off of a well running L24 and put the on an L28 with 10:1 compression and expect to get the engine running, even roughly?

Thanks Chris

Short answer...yes. I did this (see my signature) and they work just fine with a little fine tuning.

Cheers, Mike

I had my SU's with a L28 for several years - worked like a charm once you get the balanced and set.

A set of SMs on a done set of 46's will do great on two eight motors. We had three thusly set up Z that have held hill climb records here locally so if they can fire shots in anger and trophy, they can surely get you to the grocery store.

Ran early SU's on my 77 280 in Vegas for 4 years and loved them. Wish I could do it again. Came back to CA and well.....had to take them off.

Same here. We have SUs on our L28. It works fine. No changes from when they were on the L24 aside from the normal adjustments that get made at a tune-up.
