280Z with NGK IRIDIUM

Featured Replies

Any body have a 77 280Z and use NGK Iridium plugs. They are recomended for the 260 but for some reason don't see them listed for the 280Z on the NGK parts finder?

Zs run best with NGK Bpr6ESII plugs, you can spend youe money on what ever your want, but those are what you will come back to-upgrade your wires to NGK or Magnecore instead. Search the archives...its all there.

Agreed, the only purpose of the fancy materials is durability (i.e., longer life). There is no performance difference.

Not sure if I agree completly on that. The iridium plug has a very small electrode tip generating very high current. Thus the chances of fouling are greatly reduced as well as the

process of it self cleaning. Does wonders on my Porsche 912.

If you're having trouble with fouling plugs on your 280Z, something is wrong with your car.

Ask any old-timer Z owner about iridium plugs. We've all tried expensive plugs and we all go back to the $1.99 NGK copper for best results.
