Blower Upgrade 1978 280Z Worth It?

Featured Replies

1978 280Z with factory AC. Will the Honda blower upgrade be a worth while difference?

Thanks

Randy

Have you seen a link where someone did the swap with a 280Z? I've only seen it with 240Zs. The housing may be different. If you go for it and need help, let me know. I'm not that far away from you.

Steve thanks I'm having problems big time with the fuel system on my '78 280z See my other thread. It may be mechanic time, is there anyone in the local area You can recommend?

Thanks

Irish,

You can do the honda blower motor swap on a 280z yes. You do need to "modify" the blower housing by cutting out the hole bigger but once it's big enough to fit the new honda motor it works great. I noticed a minor difference but it was worth it if you ever plan on replacing a bad motor (which was why I did it in mine). All you need is something to cut the metal in the housing. I used an air power saw which cut through it like butter.

Randy,

If you can make it to the Georgia Z Club meeting this Thursday, I will introduce you to someone who can work on your car. He's at almost every meeting.

Meeting details are on the club's website.

Randy,

Here's a link with the meeting details: http://georgiazclub.com/events/details/92.html.

Eddie Radatz is over in Kennessaw. There are others on this board who could vouch for him, but I doubt they'll post anything since they are a bunch of sissy lurkers. LOL

take a look at the Kia Sportege blower motor. Mid 90's, You'll have to modify the housing some but other than that it is direct replacement.
