Here's my front and rear suspension shots showing the before, during, and after. I used POR's degreaser and Metal Ready products to thoroughly clean and neutralize any rust with a lot of wire brush action. I then followed up with Rustoleum Gloss Black. With that slick finish, everything wipes down very easily.
