BIG DILEMA!!! I picked up a 78 280Z about a year ago with a whole lot of spare parts, things i need yet is a driveshaft and the whole shifter assembly. I have found plenty of driveshafts for sale but almost NOTHING on even a shifter linkage rod? Like i said i need everything for the shifter. Does anyone know where I could find a shifter for my car, its an automatic. Thank you to anyone who can help!!

I have 2 4 speeds and a 5 speed in the garage all complete, but i guess those wouldn't help someone with an automatic. If you decide on the U-PULL-IT yard it might be better to buy the entire transmission if you come across one unmolested. Can never have enough parts. Good Luck!

Didn't member 'TomoHawk' used a shifter from some type of Chrysler product on his automatic?

If you can't find a shifter, you could always put in a five speed.
