Fastest Car You Have Ridden In?

Featured Replies

Used to run a 10.8 second Camaro back in the day. I've also driven an F430, Lambo Gallardo, Audi R8, and some other street beasts.

Nothing compared to the Formula Continental / F2000 car I drove. Powered by a 2.0L Pinto engine, the thing barely weighed 1000 pounds. 150 max on straights, but the thing accelerated extremely quickly.

I'm also a motorcyclist, but that's a different topic :)

My boss is a car collector. I got to ride in this last week about 155 down the 73. Alfa 8c.

This was faster, we hit about 168 on the same freeway last month. A 2010 458. Beautiful car.

Not the Audi Stephen, but many others. If you look closely in the first shot of the Alfa, you will see my car in the background. (its the blue Prius. HaHa).

Interesting side comment next. When I first started my employ he bought a Maranello. This was prior to us getting to know one another. I asked him for a ride in it. He told me my chest wasn't big enough. Never did get a ride in that one.

The ALfa is not much bigger than our S30s. It is a small car.

While in Germany last year my dd was a 1991 BMW 850i with a chipped ecu. I tried to get it to 300k but it would only get about 280k.... so around 170MPH, maintained for about 20 minutes usually got me where I needed to go.

You guys have have had some cool rides! Another couple of my impressive track rides are a in Holman-Moody Ford GT40 & an IMSA 512BB (Boxer) Ferrari. We never hit the top at end of turn 1 but it was so historical.

Driving Formula is right out there whether it be Ford, Continental, 3000, 1 or whatever. You lay your balls down hard. I’ve worked the races w/ SCCA & I salute you.
