Looking for Series I Hatch Vents

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where to find some Series I Hatch Vents?

Thanks alot...Robert in ABQ

Are you talking about the outer grills, or the actual vent stuff inside the hatch?

Grills are still available from your local Nissan Dealer at around $25 each.

The inner plenums are not, and are found in three varieties.

I guess both, since all I have is the hatch. I didn't know there was more than 1 piece. Any help on what I need is appreciated...Robert

It is raining and cold(for South Georgia anyway) here now. When it stops raining, I'll head out to the trailer and snap a pic or two of the nos parts(and numbers) for you.

As I said earlier, you can get the grills from the dealer, if you seal theupper and lower hatch openings, that is all you need for the right look-and you avoid the possibility of exhaust being drawn into the cockpit.

Ebay has the other parts you need on occassion, but be careful, they effectively crumble with age, what looks great in a picture can fall apart in your hands.

Will, how would you go about sealing the openings for the hatch vents? I have a decent quality vent (part #90820-e4100) but always concerned about exhaust concerns.

Another question: how would you insulate around the hatch latch so exhaust wouldn't get in?

I am analyzing all exhaust leak options and any answers regarding the hatch would be appreciated!

Thanks!

For the vents, I am using a gasket I made from adhesive backed neoprene foam to seal the vent plenum to the inside of the hatch.

I am using pretty much the same thing on the lock mechanism-a sheet of the same neoprene sealing behind the mechanism.

Thanks, Will, will look into the neoprene foam option. Is there any particular source you would recommend?

I picked up more than I need from ebay-pm me your address....

Will

How many extras do you have Will? If not many what souce can I get them from?
