Automatic antenna in an S30

I will figure out a relay setup using two wires and the factory antenna switch ( SPDT center-off momentary.)

I know this is old and someone has probably already figured this out, but I haven't seen it on the web...

My solution to this problem is to put a diode between the two wires of the stock switch (I wired it on the antenna side of the plug). I cut off the plug from the OEM antenna and wired it to the aftermarket one: 'blue/red to red' , 'blue/white to green' and 'black to black' placing a diode between the 'blue/red-red' and 'blue/white-green' (negative toward red).

Most of you probably know that a diode is like an electrical one way valve, so what this does is powers only one wire when the switch is rocked one way, but powers both wires when the switch is rocked the other way.

I just did this today, and its working like a champ! Other than the new antenna, no modifications or new switches were needed on the car, and it works like the OEM one did.
