Turbo 350 Transmission

Featured Replies

Is it possible to install a TH350 or TH350c in a 76 280Z using the adapter from MSA to the L28, or is this adapter for V8 motor conversions only? I ask this bc my trans is weak and I have a TH350c from my old Monte that I plan to rebuild. How about the u-joint/driveshaft connection, shifter connection?

thanks

I cant seem to find rebuild kits for the stock Z auto tranny

The MSA adapter is used when doing a V-8 swap. I do not see any possible way of bolting a TH350 to a stock Datsun block.

In that case, does anyone make a rebuild kit for the R200 (i think that is the trans i have)? Cant find any online...

Thanks

Hey there 280ZSS, I wish you luck in your project. One thing, the R200 is the differential you have. I have an R180, and DAtsun 510's I think had R160's.

I have not done the research some of these other VERY experienced Z guys have, but I would imagine your best bet for rebuild parts is going to be mail order shops. You can order the seals, bearings, etc from them. As for gears or shafts though, I am at a loss.

Good luck!

You should also checkout HybridZ.com where they do crazy stuff like that. I onbce read about fitting some Buick trans direct to an L28.

thxZ
