New Lime Z Owner

Featured Replies

Hello All,

Happy to report I joined the Z Owner's Club! I bought the Lime Z from member DougN. I have driven it about 600 miles so far. I'm heading back to NH this weekend with a couple of stops along the way. I don't want to jinx myself but the car runs great! Doesn't seem like a 36 year old car. Some kids at a gas station asked me if it was a race car, I told them I was Speed Racer!

I will get some pictures posted next week when it's all cleaned up. I want to thank alot of people here who gave me advice and offered help in my search for a car.

Thanks to all!

Did the kids know who Speed Racer is? Congrats!!

Congrats! Lime is a great color on early Z's. Have Fun!

Beer and Z's! Two of my favorite subjects!

To top it off my wife told me the factory service manual I bought off Ebay came to the house and looks in good condition. I bid on one a couple of weeks ago that sold for $110! The one I bought this week.... $1.99 plus 2.82 shipping. I couldn't believe it! The web page counter says I was the first one who saw it Saturday night and I hit the BIN button as quick as I could. I don't think the seller knew what they sold for.

I think you got a pretty nice 240-Z with an interesting history.... A true Classic has no age, it is of timeless beauty.

enjoy the ride...

Carl B.

I"m partial to lime myself. Congrats on the purchase. I hope you enjoy it!

Congratulations!

You mentioned "jinxing" yourself, so in order to avoid that, please read the following:

Hope this helps;

Glad to hear the trip is going well so far! I'm sad to see the car go, but at least it's going to a good home and another Z enthusiast! I think the Yellow Z is happier now as it will get driven more :classic:

Regarding the "anti-jinx" in the thread Gary mentions, I've fed the monster plenty, so the car should be just fine for some time! :classic:

Enjoy the rest of the trip, let us know when you've arrived home safely! I'll send you the "list" next week when I get a chance!

Doug;

No doubt you've fed the monster plenty, the car looks sharp. IIRC this is the same car that Carl mentioned some months (years?) back.

However, don't forget that the monster cares not how recently nor how much it's been fed....wallet on the console equals immediate craving for expense. Heck, I would wager that he would at least need .... I don't know... fuzzy dice?

The caution is more to alert Joel than about needing to spend the money.

Joel, just remember, do NOT put your wallet or any other money or credit device on the center console. Call it superstition, call it tom-foolery, call it an urban legend, but somehow the car knows and the stories by other members are NOT made up.

I made it all the way home without a hitch! Almost 1500 miles of driving and she ran great!
