unidentifiable wire in engine bay

Featured Replies

HA yeah Ive only seen it a couple times. I dont remember the Marty McFly part.

This is got to be one of the best examples of a hijacked thread, ever. :)

And, the flux capacitor in action... ;)

I like the scene in the diner or w.e in 1955 when he hits him on the head MCFLY!! That replica flux capacitor seems kind of expensive, id love to have one in the Z hooked up to the speedo to light up at 88mph

I was just thinking that.. I feel bad now.

If you feel that bad about it go back in time and prevent it from ever happening.

Hmmmmmmmmmm If only my z could go 88mph DANG, 88kmh maybe.

i just noticed this today.

where are these wires supposed to be attached to? i looked around that area and could not find where it belongs.

Bringing the topic back on track, I agree that those look like the wires that connect to the reverse switch on the right side of the transmission.

(They connect just to the left of the field of view in your picture.)

Looking at my 260z reverse switch wires, they run from the switch, up the passenger side of the firewall, to underneath the battery. That looks to be what your wires are. There is a little switch sticking out of the side of your transmission with 2 male connectors, just plug them back in to your other wires. You may have to jack the car up to make it easier to reach.

Good Luck!

Pull those wires back in this direction:

And plug them into this. It should be on the side of your trans and you can reach it from under the hood:

If the wires are missing from the switch, you'll need a new one.

clindayag1, if your switch turns out to be bad, you can have the one I pictured. It works and I have a couple of extras and I'm somewhat local to you.
