got my 260z!

Featured Replies

So I just got my 260 with a "new" l24. I will be getting into it this weekend but I thought I would post some pictures and see what you guys thought. I may be in over my head but I uess I will find out. It has not been driven since 88 and used to run great. Although it has been kept in a garage since then I see surface rust. Oh well, I just hope you guys like me cause I will have to spend plenty of time here asking questions.

For your viewing enjoyment, here are the pictures of my zcar endeavor.:nervous:

welcome aboard . we have the same number of posts but if i can help i certainly will try. with the guys/gals on here very few are in over their heads. LOTS of good information to be had!

Wow, that ones a sleeper for real. Are those actual flat tops I've never seen the original evil carbs of the 260z's. LOL.

BTW: I am a fellow 260z owner, welcome to the club.

Those are not flat tops... Those are downdraft Webbers.

There is a thread around here somewhere on those things. They were originally an emissions legal replacement for the flat tops.

Very nice acquisition, it looks like you've already made some good headway on the project! ... and I agree that the cobwebs are a very interesting touch :)

So, how do you plan to breath life back into her?

Wow you guys are great, thanks for the comments. Unfortunately I cannot take credit for the "cowbweb" mod, however I did spend some time with the car tonight cleaning it out. I removed all of the carpet and seats and it seems alomost perfect under there. I will post some more pics tomnorrow.

there are a few body issues I will have to deal with like that left rear quarter panel, but my grandfather gave me the car for free so I won't complain.

Those are weber down draft carbs and it is an l24 engine. Should be fun...:paranoid:

I hate .pdf files. It always crashes. I even have the latest and poopiest. Anyways, I got to see the first few pictures at least. Looks like what my Z car did when I first got it. Never really driven on the second owner (me being the third) and it sat for at the least 3 years before I picked it up. After gutting the interior, changing fluids, hoses, and giving it somewhat of a bath, it looks TONS better. Going to work on it again in Sept. and it is going to come out a brand new car with all that I am going to be doing to it.

Welcome I have a 260z as well. I have a few misc parts if any can be of use. Its not a lot but I have some sun visors, rear shock tower covers, I have an intire EFI from a 75 280z, and a few other things for the 260z. Oh and if you want I have my original flat tops haha. Anyway Ill look at what I have if you want me to. Chris
