240z transfer to manuel

Featured Replies

Hi. I'm a car novice looking to buy my first 240z but the one I'm looking at is an automatic. Is it difficult/expensive to swap it over to a manuel?

J.

Hi Jesse,

Sherman Oaks? Sherman Oaks, California, I assume. If I were you I would keep looking.....there are more 240Zs in California than anywhere else in the world and a lot of them are low-rust or sometimes even rust-free cars. The vast majority of 240Zs have manual transmissions. Welcome to the club and good luck with your search.

But if you do buy an automatic, swapping is not hard. Here's a link to a tech article I wrote on this very subject.

If I change my name to Manuel, will you transfer the car to me :) Just kidding.

I see this is your first post, so, welcome to the club.

Lots of helpful people here if, you can stand a bad joke every now and then.

and if you decide to go this route, My son happens to be parting out a 73 240 that would have everything you need for the conversion:pirate: :pirate: :pirate: :pirate: :pirate:
