Konig 17's Question

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I am looking at the Konig 'Netz' 17x7 Wheel that is designed to fit the '72.

This car is dropped about 1-2 inches from what I can tell.

Are these gonna fit with no mods to clear the sheet metal, espically when working the car?

I love the look of these...

You should have no problem with the 17" rims. Konig makes their rims for the early Z's so that they are a direct bolt on. That is the reason they only make a 7" width. But make sure to use the right tire with that size rim.

I am told that there are adaptors that are needed. What I have found out is that is basically makes the wheel flush(er) with the car but still is tucked inside the wheel well.

Thoughts?

I made a mistake. The rims you are talking about will need spacers.

I was thinking of the two new rims that Konig makes for the early Z's. One comes in 15x7 and the other comes in 15x7 and 16x7. Both have a "0" offset. One is called the Maxxim 4 Play and the other is the Maxxim Screech. Sorry about that.

Spacers are ok to use as well. Modern Motorsports makes a very good set.

I appreciate the advice Sir...

And by spacers you mean the adaptors needed for the 5 lug, correct?

Thanks again...

Not sure if MM makes the 4 to 5 lug conversion spacers, but you should be able to contact them to find out.

The spacers are similar to the 5 lug adapters, but don't change the bolt pattern or number of lugs. They are designed to allow the use of commonly available 4-4.5 FWD wheels (a la Honda) on older RWD cars.

Brian.

Just like Arne said.

I got an example of my konings wheels i got from MSA. The set comes complete with nuts and spacers but this is a four bolt pattern.
