Where do these hoses go?

where do these hoses go?

I know 2 of the 3 are for the heater, which is currently bypassed, but where does the 3rd one go?

Both the Haynes and Clymer manuals don't have a clear picture of the cooling system other than it enters and exits the engine on the front portion.

Intake manifold. To and from the heater as you said, and over to the intake manifold for the third.

Steve.

That was good timing, I just happened to be taking some pictures of my engine.

The little hose with the two clamps in your picture connects to the pipe in the picture below. The pipe wraps around the back of the engine and connects to the rear of the intake manifold. I just ordered a new pipe from Nissan, I was glad it was still available.

I've read many posts that claim that you don't need this hooked up if you live in a place where it's warm most of the time. Running coolant through the intake manifold/carbs helps with cold weather starting and running. I'm going for as original as possible so I'm hooking mine up even though I live in Phoenix.

Hopefully this helps, good luck with your car.

That looks like an attempt at a bypass. Does the heater work- are the heater hoses hooked up right?

thanks, mine is a track/weekend car so I guess the intake manifold heat isn't necessary. I may just leave off the heater hoses for now also.

Think there would be any problem just plugging the line where it enters the block and goes to the heater and plugging the cylinder head return line? I know the way the PO had it looped, the line was kinked and not flowing anyway.

Let me know if you get it. I ordered one about three weeks ago, and they told me it was a good number, but I never got it. Was told that the warehouse that was supposed to have it/them couldn't find it.

Did anyone notice that the engine is mounted ON AN ENGINE STAND? LOL

If his heater were to work, then the Aliens have wired it up.
