Welcome aboard! MY first Z was a 260, it's been a love affair ever since. Your best friend here on this site is the forum search function, lots of info on every topic under the sun. If you cant find what you need after a few searches, don't hesitate to ask - someone here will have "been there, done that" before! Add some photos to the gallery, we always love seeing new additions to the family!

I live in Tomball, TX (outside of Houston). I bought the Z in Wichita and drove it 10 hrs home. Wow...what an introduction that was.

Welcome and congrats on your new purchase. I'm sure you'll find all the info you'll need here or linked from here. Let's see some pics.

Welcome and my first Z was a brand new off the showroom floor Emerald Green 260Z with tan interior, should have never let that one go !!!!!!!!!

Hey, I'm from Wichita. When did you find it here? Must have been in pretty darn good shape to get you all the way home. I've never driven mine for more that a 2 hour drive.

Welcome to the club. I have an 260 engine in my 77 and love it. Every 280 I've run with, I've managed to creep away from them. That sort of makes them upset. The Z owners in this area tend to shy away from the 260 for some reason or another. It seems that if it isn't a 240, they want an 280. So far I've taken a good 260 engine to the JY as no one wanted it and just gave away another complete 260 car. Get rid of that electronic ignition that's on it. It's really spendy if you have to repair it. Drop a ZX dizzy in it and really feel it come alive. I'm assuming you have the late model 260. A set of round top SU's will make your life a lot happier also. There are people around who can make the flat tops run good, but they don't really like them. Enjoy the so called black sheep of Z cars. I think the turm should be a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Guy lived in Jamestown, KS...had the car listed on THEBIGLOT.com. I purchased a one-way ticket to Wichita, where he met me. Turned the cash over to him and never looked back.

Welcom, I believe this to be the best site on the web for early Z owners. It's full of info and helpful members!! :)

Hey, welcome to the world of Z, particularly the 260!

I have an early '74 260z that I bought about 2 years ago, and I love it. Last year I switched the flattop carbs to the roundtops, and haven't looked back. The car has become much more driveable just from that one change.

This forum, along with www.zcar.com and even www.hybridz.org have been great. The Z community is a close one, and you'll always find members willing to help each other out.

Best regards,

Ayan aka "orange260z"

Welcome!!!

Hrududu--

Must have been in pretty darn good shape to get you all the way home. I've never driven mine for more that a 2 hour drive.

You're kidding right man? heh.

Yukon--his avatar I would assume is his rig....It's an early 260z with thin bumpers...

260zbuzz--just so you know, I have an almost new brain box and new electric fuel pump from a 74.5 260z, only like 4000 miles on each, then I totalled the car...if you're ever interested, I might still have them if you ever need em. They are really spendy..like $200 each and up. These are Nissan parts.
