engine paint

Featured Replies

i've just bought Duplicolor DE 1621 Old Ford Blue to touch up the engine.

i searched here and found this is recommended as the closest match to the original engine color.

when i sprayed it on smog pump brackets, it seems 'too' blue and much, much brighter than the oem color. even taking into account 30+ years of fading.

anyone else get this? is this truly the original color or did i just get a badly mixed batch?

I may be wrong but I was told along time back that the Chrisler blue engine paint was VARY close. Gary

This is what the Ford Blue looks like on the engine. I think Beandip is right. This blue is way too deep.

My opinion.

I used "GM Corporate blue", which I think is for Oldsmobile engines, because the cap seemed to match what remained of the color on my engine.

I think the attached pictures are a little over-exposed, but they are close.

Wouldn't it be possible to obtain the original paint code from Nissan ??

It worked for me when I asked for my car's original paint code.

Rick.
