Posting this for ED-you did it right!

The housing is made from black plastic that is painted gray (at least for the USA) by Nissan.

Will,

Where you marked "grey overspray" is where I have grey overspray on mine. I guess the rest was cleaned off. It does look better matching the panel.

Thanks.

Edit: One more question, What is the gasket material made out of?

So what colour is it then. You say black then a grey overspray. To me this applies it was originally black!

Are you saying this one you purchased has NEVER been installed on a car and came NEW in the box.

Joseph

Just ordered in from the Dealer on 5/21/05. Out of the box twice-once to check for damage when I picked it up, and just now to take the pictures!

I have one new in the box, Joseph. I'll go out to the shop and report back.

The Gasket is made of rubber or something similar-I would think a suitable copy could be cut out of edpm, an inner tube, rubberized gasket material-btw you have a PM

I call it anthracite. The grey / gray color of the hubcaps, rear valance, and front grill. It is a lacquer paint and has a dull finish. Anthracite is the color of my license plate light. It is painted over black plastic. Now...you didn't ask me about no stink'n gasket. I'll have to go back and check.

That 20 minutes across town gets to be a pita!

I brought the part home-I knew there would be other questions!

There is a thread on the commonly available closest color-but I can't remember.

I am taking the light back to its storage now-and stopping by the Post office for ED.

Thanks Will,

The color of the panel that is mentioned in another post is from Dupli-color it's a High performance wheel paint. WP-102. This is what I used and was able to give it a dull finish by making the last coat a fine quick mist. She looks goooooood! I'll put up a picture when I get it all together.
