Mags and dashboard info

Featured Replies

No digicam Geoff but I've got some pics on film being developed so they could be scanned. Have a look in my gallery, those are the wheels on the car. See also bottom right here except mine all all black in the center, and look a lot better IMHO. http://www.performancewheels.com.au/classic.htm

Offset is 18mm positive which is about perfect for 7" on the 260Z.

The wheels in your pics in the gallery are a bit dark and I wasn't sure if they wre the ones you referred to. As you can see I have 14x7 Challengers with 3mm positive as road wheels on my 260 at the moment. However, I have some 15" Toyo RA1's on 15x6 at the moment for the track and would prefer 7".

When you are going to sell your wheels send me a PM or Email as I may be interested.

Does anyone know a company that will do like different width for front and back but same size sorta thing? Like i want something like 15x6 for front, and 15x10 for back. But everywhere i've seen, if you want thinner ones they're also smaller mags, so it'd make the car look a bit odd. And i don't think i could steer 15x10's on the front without power steering :P

Ok sorry i take all that back, i just found a place that you can get good mags and in the sizes i want :D

http://www.performancewheels.com.au/classic.htm#classic the challenger wheel down the bottom right. I love it :D

P.S. Thanks for the reference halz!

I think you'd wanna go a good bit wider than 6" on the front. From what I've seen these cars seem to handle best with similar sized rubber front and rear. Do some research, see what size rim/tire combos are being used by those with flares.

Thanks for the info man. The range i'm looking at comes in 15x4, 15x7, 15x8, 15x10, 16x10. So what would you guys recommend? Maybe i guess 15x8 at the front? I just don't think it would be possible to steer 10's without power steering

Be careful in using different width's front & rear.

Different sizes front & rear can be un-roadworthy, putting your car off the road if pulled up.

I reackon you could get away with 1" bigger on the rear, I did for quite a while but eventually changed back to the same width for controllability.

Good luck....

You're right! those Challengers ARE sweet. The got an old school JDM feel to them.

Here they are on a Z car

So do you guys think i should get like either 15x7 front and 15x8 rear, or just 15x8 both? I really did want the 15x10's for rear :P Would be sweet to have fat as wheels

Victor,

Those wheels you have shown are Simmons (a great Australian product) B45's. Which are different to the Challenger wheel in your thumbnail.

MickieB - The Simmons site is this, http://www.simmonswheel.com.au/wheelcare.html. You will find they are a bit more expensive than the Performance wheels, but they are a terrific modular wheel where you can specify different size rims.

g260

Zedrally has a good point about the legality of different sized rims/tires.

Mickie B: Keep in mind 225s on a 7" rim is about as big as you'll fit under the stock zed guards. Say a 8" rim with a 245 or maybe even a 255 would be quite fat and should fill out the flares well. I don't know that you could fit the extra 3" worth of a 10" wheel under the flares.

Also, these cars do REALLY stick to the road with a good set of 225s.....so sat 255s would be plenty. When I get my car running again I'll take you for a spin if you like.

As For the dashboard. Dashboard restorations in Queensland are pretty expensive (around $450 to $500), but i hear they do a high quality job.
