June 16, 200420 yr comment_85357 I believe the bracket should be the blue color. Both my L24 and L28 have blue brackets and I know for certain the L28 is all original as far as paint goes. The bolts and nuts on a Z car were originally zinc plated I believe. Maybe 26thZ can get in on this for sure. I thought the yellowing comes with age. I have used an Eastwood zinc plating kit and it works well. Much Luck, Chris Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12231-alternator-bracket-correct-color/#findComment-85357 Share on other sites
June 16, 200420 yr comment_85389 Chris is right. the bracket is the same blue as the engine block. Nuts, washers & bolts are the goldish zinc color.Marty Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12231-alternator-bracket-correct-color/#findComment-85389 Share on other sites

June 16, 200420 yr comment_85411 Plain/flat washers from the factory arent yellow-zinc plated, they come flat silver. All other bolts and lock/spring washers and nuts are yellow-zinc plated.RegardsJoseph Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/12231-alternator-bracket-correct-color/#findComment-85411 Share on other sites
June 18, 200420 yr Author comment_85635 You can get the blue paint from Mike at Banzai Motorworks. The web site is zzxdatsun.com and the #301-420-4200. He has the 80% match paint for $6.00. I recently rebuilt my motor and used this paint. I can not tell the difference by looking at them side by side. The 100% is $20.00 or so. I've bought stuff from this guy before. He seems to sell stuff that is for the most part still available from dealers. If anyone wants this bracket, I'd suggest checking with Chloe before bidding to win.Just my $.02PS I never had any complaints about the seller. Quick Shipper at reasonable cost IMO, it's just that I discovered that the items I bought frim him were in fact still available at slightly cheaper prices through dealers.
