Hi guys Would the LZ22S piston be a good alternative for my L28 crank/240 rods combo? Piston specs: 87mm bore, 35mm pin height and 9.33cc dish = 8.3:1 same as a stock L28 but with a different rod/stroke ratio, also good for pump gas. It will be approx .5mm below deck, does it matter? Also, if I shave the piston flat would I increase or decrease compression? I'am thinking it might increase but since its below deck, thats were I get confused. Cheers, Ari

Well, I finally got around to installing a 1992 Honda Civic blower motor into my 1976 Z. While I had every intention of photographing the operation, I didn’t! I got carried away in the process, and didn’t think of taking pictures until the motor was installed.:stupid: Oh well! Here is the procedure I used and the results: 1. Remove the plastic trim piece under the glove box to allow better access to the blower. 2. Remove the glove box lid and liner. Even though I have a full dash cover, I was still able to pull the box liner out through the front opening. It was tight, but by wiggling it around a little I was able to pull it free. 3. Remove the air hose that goes to…

Help!!!! I have an '82 turbo automatic pretty much in a pile in my back yard for parts (killed - front end totalled). I just aquired an '82 5-speed, non-turbo (my new project) Will the rear ends will be interchangeable?? The "new" '82 has a terrible roar. Checked the oil in the diff, looked decent (some minute shavings) but changed the oil anyway to make sure. Still roars - probably the bearings? No way to really tell how much damage is back there until I start disassembling. The turbo (automatic) had a strong rear end before it's death, and if they will interchange without a lot of work, I'm thinking that would be the easy, cheesy way to go. Any help?

On my early 71Z drivers side door panel is 2 plugged holes at the same position as the pull handle on the passenger side. I have seen a pull handle on some model but I don't remember which. Is it supposed to have a drivers side handle on mine?

Does anyone out there have a spare dizzy fixing(adjustment) plate for a 79-81 280ZX. I'm swapping out my 73' dizzy for a 79' but it didn't come with a fixing plate.

Hello I have a early 71 and a shop had put a 5 speed from a 280z in it many years ago. It seems that they did not replace the slave cylinder at the time and the rod is too short and caused the piston to move almost out of the cylinder to actuate the clutch. Does anyone know if there is a small bore slave cylinder and a large bore clutch master cylinder combo from a 240/260/280/zx ? that has a long and hopefully adjustable rod? I want a larger and smaller bore combo than stock if possible to reduce the clutch pedal movement. I also need to replace the Diff. mount bushing does anyone know a good year from another car that will fit? Maybe one that is of a longer lasting or …

It appears that 70-71 240Z used one type of turn signal switch, and 72-73 used a different one. Anybody know what the differences are? Assuming that originality is not crucial, is one better than another? I ask because I will be needing a replacement for my 71, and used switches from 72-73 seem to be more plentiful.

Does anybody know if the back plate for a 70 (no heat riser no summer/winter flap) air cleaner is identical to the 72 one? The 72 I am referring to is for roundtops and has the heat riser and summer/winter flap. I know it will fit but am concerned with originality as my Z is an early VIN. Thank you in advance....

Hello y'all, I'm in Dallas Texas and could use a little info: I'm looking for water pump, clutch fan, fan and radiator for a '71 240. I'm not sure if the water pump went bad, or if it's just the fan clutch, but the whole assembly went slack and the wobbly fan ripped a hole in my radiator. The radiator is toast! If anyone else has had this happen and has experience doing the repair please say hello. And, if anybody has serviceable parts in Dallas, please let me know. Thanks, Mike G.

Hello All... the Honda Prelude 97, 98, 99, 00, and 01 blower fits a 240Z. There are additional screw holes in the flanges that fit perfectly and I clipped off the nibs in the cage with toenail clippers. A much newer replacement part and it REALLY blows.

I've been reading all over the net and haven't really found a GOOD site for info on motor swaps. What exactly are the do's and don'ts. The car I'll be building will be track only so smog stuff is out the door. I've been thinking of doing a RB26DET/TT or other RB series. Or perhaps SR? motor swap, the numbers money wise look astronomical for a RB26DETT. I also am not intersted in doing a V8 swap. Thinking along the lines of HIGH BOOST, HIGH LAG 4 or 6 cylinder turbo motors.. Won't mind the turbo(s) spooling like 2-3k shy of redline. Any ideas or links ? My car is a 1972 240zx
