Hello all, can a shifter from a 78 5 speed fit into an 82 5 speed? The 82 uses the spring loaded shifter and I would rather not use that one. Let me know. Thanks, Rick.

Should work, I swapped a 73 4 speed shifter for an 81 5 speed with no problem.

In regards to my shifter question, I know this may seem sophmoric, but the finishing of my restoration rests on this question. I started the car for the first time yesterday and it fired right up. Pics will be soon to follow. Please help. I want to drive my baby. Thanks, Rick.
