  1. I have finally narrowed down a shake in my steering wheel and bounce in my car to the 41 year old aluminum wheels. These issues, along with having to run a spacer for one of my Toyota 4x4 Calipers has led me to look for new wheels for the Z. I'm looking at the Konig Rewinds and Rota RB's but don't know what size and offset I should get to fit the car as best as possible. If anyone has upgraded to these wheels or has advise in general, I would love the feedback.
  2. Just got some Rota Grid V (15x8") and I tried to test fit just one rim to the car. well i tried the fronts first and the rim wont sit flush to the mounting pad because the front hub is tapered I guess and may be to large at its base. I did some research and the front bores are like 73mm and the Rota's are 73.1mm a close fit. but it should fit. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do or if anyone has had problems similar to this? I was thinking of sanding the crap out of the bore to snug it up. Link to the wheels i got-> http://www.ebay.com/itm/15X8-ROTA-GRID-V-WHEELS-4X114-3-RIM-0MM-SPORT-BRONZE-/370492344422?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item5643108866 Thankyou!!
  3. I just got my new rims and tires. Hyper Black Rota RB-R 16x8 +10 with Hancook H105 225/50/16 96V XL tires($110 each buy 4 get one free). I have a 73 240z. I went back and forth between the 16x7 and the 16x8 since for every one person that said the 8's would fit there was someone else that said they don't fit. I called 18 racing and they told me the 16x8 +10 would work. The rears fit with no spacers and I probably don't need to roll fenders at all but I probably will before I paint the car. The gap is around 3/16 to 1/4 inch from the tire to the perch. The fronts I read needed a 5mm spacer but I had some 3mm spacers from when I purchased the car so all I did was sand down the spring perch until I hit the spring on the front face of the perch and they fit. There is plenty of room from the fenders. The gap is around 1/8 inch from the tire to the perch. If I could have purchased the 5mm spacers at the tire shop I would have but I improvised. I also just got an alignment done. I was a little scared because I have complete disasembled the car and cut out the frame rails and welded in new 2x2 inch square tubing for the frame rails because the old ones were bent, cracked and there was a lot of rust, then I welded the tension rod mounts back in. I also have the bushing camber adjustments. The caster(tension rod length) was close enough that they did not do anything and the camber was spot on from just me eye balling it. The only thing they changed was the toe which was also very close from me just eye balling it. Now I need a paint job.
