  1. Would do you think the Isky L-490 cam is too much for the SU+sm needles carbs fuel supply? JB

Has anyone used a Isky Cam brand on their Z? Looking on using their stage II on my daily driver. Running an 82 P90/L28 with raised compression and SUs with SM needles.
  3. I'm probably going to jinx myself for this. Did a all paint off the body and parts back in 94 and the 5/70 still looks great. The kicker is being in the U.S. Navy I get to move arround, well from Oct 1998 thru Nov 2001 the car was driven 100 miles daily to and from work (over 2 hrs). Dec 2001 - present I have relocated again and this time the drive is from Long Beach Ca to San Diego over 5 hours per day and over 200 miles daily. If the luck remains with me should move closer to work soon and start on another engine rebuilt. Some of you might see me out on the I405/I5 freeways. Got to love drive on these Z.
  4. I removed the resistor. Read the resistor was there because the points could not handle the current. With the points gone I installed a MSD coil. My $.02******
  5. Bombing 82 degrees here at 0700 in the morning. Where? On a Navy ship coming home after a good a** kicking with some T-hawks.....Been gone over 8 months and can't wait to ride my Z and looks like I will make it to the West Coast Natl this year. Now will the politician mess up the post war govt in Iraqi?
  6. I'm in the military and not required to register my car in the state of CA but can tell you that they tried to hit me with a $200.00 fine for not registering my Z. I rejistered the Z after my old state registration expired. Read the title it might have rules as to when you need to register the car. I bought a pickup in WA and the seller had to mail a portion of the title reporting the date of sell. There was even a note for me to register within 10 days of purchase or pay a fine which I did $70.00..Hope this helps....
  7. Halz, No I'm on the smaller one inport Frea. Will be making my first trip into Perth this weekend. The Abe is big alright was onboard a carrier before. There is 5000 people on board.
  8. Nice to know there is a "Z" community in the Frea/Perth area. A U.S. Navy sailor here that misses his 5/70 240Z. Have been looking around but have not run into any yet. Drop a line if there is anything going on with your Zs.
  9. Yes, you can reused the 8mm bolts. I did it in 94 on my 40 over 5/70 L24. I had to buy one rod to replace two of them. Paid $20.00 for a new rod and used the bolts. Take a good look at them check for stretching. My L24 was running fine 6 months ago when I took it out for an L28e/su swap. The head went out before the old bolts. I just visited a website that sold the rod cheap. Will search for it if you are still looking for a few bolt. Pearl Blue 5/70 L28e/Su
  10. Thankz Alan, Just hope I'll be able to carry it back to the ship. Will make an effort to find one beside doing the sailor in a foreign thing "drinking". Later all. Miss driving my Z already!
  11. Thankz, Will go with the early R200 from a 300z. I'm on a Navy ship and will carry it on board. Free shipping literaly.
  12. Does anyone know what year of Skyline one needs for the LSD that will fit a 5/70. Will be in Japan in a few days and it would not hurt to see if I can find one at a fare price.
  13. Does anyone know of a good machine shop to take a L28e/P79 to in the Long Beach area? JB 5/70
  14. Will be starting the swap next weekend. Do you have to change the oil pan of the L28? Have not seen the sup of the L28 yet.
