you can see these wheels on a Z if you go to my gallery. There are some shots of these wheels on my Z.
  2. I have some tires/wheels for sale if anyone's interested. I have attached a picture and will follow with some more. I was thinking $150.00 is a good price for all 4 with lugs, you pay the shipping. They're BFGoodrich Touring series 195/70/R14's. Look at the picts and if interested send me a PM or email.
  3. I though you had a thread awhile back about dropping in a new V8 and people were giving you a hard time about how it looking like a V6. My bad.
  4. What are you going to do with this one? Don't you have one with an L-series engine and one with a V8? How did that go by the way? have you got that running better? I'm thinking of doing that in a year or so and I'd be interested in knowing how difficult and expensive it was if you don't mind.
  5. Do you think they painted them all that ugly? Someone actually bid on that thing. But then again, I guess you can always repaint. UGH:dead:

This is pretty funny. Johnny Ranger The Ultimate Response to a to Dear John Letter... An Army ranger was deployed to Afghanistan. While he was there he received a letter from his girlfriend. In the letter she explained that she had slept with two guys while he had been gone, she wanted to break up and she wants pictures of herself back. So the Ranger does what any squared away Ranger would do. He went around to his buddies and collected all the unwanted photos of women he could find. He then mailed about 25 pictures to his girlfriend with the following note: "I'm sorry I can't remember which one you are, but please take the one that belongs to you and send the rest back. Thank you."

Please don't get pissed off or offended by this web link. It's pretty funny and just some light hearted fun. Enjoy. http://www.sailinganarchy.com/general/2002/cool_test.htm
  8. I agree with you guys about the bumper. They should have "accidently" forgot to put it on all together. The other thing I'm surprised about is leaving or adding that chrome trim along the running board area of the body (below the doors). I have that crap on my car and I will remove it when it goes to the paint shop in the future. Pretty nice car though. Let's see so they invested 30K and the bid is currently at 11.7K...... that's some return! Could anyone notice if the suspension looked modified. It's hard to tell but it doesn't look like they refreshed or did much to the suspension as it's still kind of rusted and no shiners from wrench work. Be a shame to sink all that cash into the car and not work the suspension or brakes.
  9. Bambikiller's got the idea. Thanks for the post. The trim I speak of is on the driver's and passenger's door panels, two pinstripes that look like chrome but are obviously tape. Someone at a dentless repair shop told me about so tape you can by at a hobby store for this but I can't remember what it's called. Maybe I should get off my lazy butt and go down to this store and find out what he was talking about. Sound like the duct tape idea is a good one as well. The blue color under the chrome tape just isn't cutting it for me anymore. Especially since it's only about a 6-8" length. Thanks guys.
  10. Can anyone tell me where or how to repair the silver pinstriping that is on the interior of the doors. I have a small section that has come off and need to replace it. Anyone with experience fixing this stuff?
  11. Found this on Ebay. Looks like a real nice rehab job. I guess it should be for 30K invested :dead: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2400719599&category=6187 Great looking paint job!
  12. For what it's worth my switch out was a direct swap. I just took the old shocks out and slapped the new ones in. There was length difference between front and back but the shocks came labeled front and back so it was pretty easy. I did cut down my bumpstop by 1/2"-3/4" for slightly more travel in the tower but everything swapped straight across. My car lowered about 1.5"-2" also. I think this was because my stock springs were in such good condition there wasn't a lot of sag so the new springs lowered the car more than normal. I don't know anything about the different versions between countries but if it's american made, I would guess as long as you get the correct parts ordered it should go right together.
  13. That tokico package does sound pretty reasonable. In the U.S., Tokico illumina shocks are $150.00 per corner. The Illumina's are adjustable gas units. Non-adjustable tokico's price out at $77/corner. I couldn't tell you what amount that translates into for you. :stupid: The springs here are $230 for a set. The thing I can't tell is if they are progressive rated springs. You'd have to check on that and decide if that is something you want. There is a spring available called a European spring that increase spring rate from 11% to 18% and only mildly lowers the car. This springs are from Nissan competition. Hopefully, someone will chime in here who can speak to the ride issue and make a recommendation about the struts for track/street. I know that with my Eibach's, poly bushings and the non-adjustable shocks my car is pretty tight. I also feel any bumb in the road and find myself sloloming on the road quite a bit. I have heard that the adjustables are best for the combination driving but they're considerably more expensive. That's something you get to try and figure out.:classic:
  14. 260z- Sorry, I just realized your in finland and that 800 # might not help you. Try contacting them throught www.zcarparts.com. Email @ motorsport@sbcglobal.net. Maybe they can get you the eibach part #'s that way.
  15. Here you go 260Z There are two types of 260's. The early 260 (built up to august 74) has thin bumbers and turn signal lights below the bumper. The late 260 has fat bumpers and turn signals in the grille above the bumper. Motorsports phone # is 1.800.633.6331. They're really cool and will answer any of your questions. This is their order line just for your info. My guess is you need the 280Z springs set but motorsport will know for sure. I'm not sure what you are looking for in regard to shocks. There are several manufactures to choose from; KYB, koni, Tokico adjustable, non-adjustable. Really depends on what your looking for. I personally have the non-adjustable tokico's with the pro-kit and love the handling. It will depend on how you want to use the car. If your racing alot you might need adjustables. If it's a weekend knockaround car, occasional driver you don't need the adjustability. I think you'll find a lot of opinions here. Do a search on this site for suspensions and you might find some more info. Another thing I highly recommend is the bump-steer spacers at a minimum. It will help preserve your tires. If you want to farther look at the performance camber kits. Do you have poly bushings yet? If not get them and install them when your doing your springs. Hope this helps.
  16. I have Eibach's pro-kit on my 260z (early - pre 8/74) and had to go to Motorsports for my springs. The set for the 240z does fit the early 260z however Eibach stopped making these springs for this car. They only make them for 240's or 280's. If you buy from shox.com they will not, nor will Eibach provide you with any kind of warranty toward the springs should they fail. If you go to motorsports they will give you a warranty but not through Eibach. The other thing to pay attention to is the part number on the springs. There is a # with a decimal in it and the springs with the .10 # go in the front and the .2 # goes in the back. I found this out the hard way as there are no instructions in the box to tell you this. Your car will look really wierd if you get these reversed. Anyway good luck.
  17. If you go to www.z.com and click on the movie trailer you can see this clip. Turn your volume up so enjoy the sound of the car as it goes through gears. Pretty cool video.
  18. Has anyone seen this ad that's been running in the movie theatre previews called 'The Run'? I went to the Lord of the rings the other day and the opening preview/ad was for the new 350z called 'The run'. The ad starts out inside the car shot over the dashboard with the 3 gauges showing and the speedometer reading 123mph. It's probably a minute or so long and it shows the new 350z racing through these tight narrow streets in europe? somewhere. Really cool ad. It gives you a great sense of what it might be like to drive it and it's pretty much balls to the wall the whole run. There's no commentary or anything just various shots of the new z racing around from inside the car and out. If you have any interest in the new Z this is really fun to watch! Made me want to drive around really fast! Merry christmas everyone! Jon

It would be pretty interesting to see what kind of power ends up at the wheels. I'm sure the mechanic(s) were bored and had this K5 sitting around and thought it would be a fun project. It's a pretty interesting modification. How well it works though I couldn't tell you. If I go by someday and it's still out I'll try and see what they say about it. Maybe they'll drive it for me?!

Hey everyone- For those of you who like to make mod's, this one ought to peek your interests. I found this the other night in front of a small auto shop in the Denver area. We haven't had much snow here lately so there's probably not much use for this but maybe up north in the snowier regions you could make use of this concept. I'm really curious how well it works.
  21. Check www.hybridz.org. They do a lot of different mods. There's a link from this site in the web links section. Good luck!

  23. We may need to add the 350Z drivers to this disrespectful attitude. Friday I was at a stop sign in my Z when I look up and a black 350 is turning right next to me. I gave a wave and the a**hole glanced over real quick and looked away and just kept driving. I thought I was in a posh (piece of sh*t) bug or something. Pissed me off. Later I was passed by an oncoming vette, late 60's, gave a wave and got one back. My impression of this 350z driver was that he thought he was the next greatest thing since sliced bread. I hope this isn't the trend but my gut tells me the new owners wouldn't know the old classic Z if it hit them. If anyone else has an encounter with a new Z let us know.
