  3. kool thanks ... in that case i hope they make a million new Z's
  4. I put a 240z exhaust on my 280 ( just straight pipes from the manifold back then a nice muffler) to get rid of the catylitic converter because it was a california car. Now since i did this did i get much of a HP increase? I know when you take off the cats ( or cat. in this case) it adds some but i was wondering how much. Sorry for the random response but mods were brought up. Anyways perhaps safety and emission regulations were the reason 240z's beat out the 280'z's totally stock? I think with mild modifications a 280 can become about the same weight as a 240, those damn bumpers have a few pounds on em heh. Ohh yah is it legal to remove them? or do you have to have some means of a bumper on a vehicle in massachusetts.
  5. nice lookin car, hell id buy it if i had the cash. I think nissan should come out with a newer 280 or 240z instead of these new z's no offense to anyone here but i too agree they look like a toad =P Quick question though, if they did come out with a new version of the 240, 260, or 280 would the older ones value go down? I heard rumors when they came out with the new mustangs that the older ones lost their value due to the demand in the newer ones
  6. maybe it was just my 240. I drove it before restoration but it was fine tuned. I did the same with my 280 before restoration. Maybe im just remembering wrong. Anyways my 280 isnt totally stock either, has quite a few mods to it so maybe thats wat caused it =)
  7. As much as i love the original 240z i would go with the 280z , but remove the bumpers totally =) Ive had the chance to fix both and drive both ( not very far but... hey i can tell the difference) and the 280 had a lot more zip. As for handling thats totally stock and most people out there atleast have modified tires so it will most likely cancel that catagoery out. They are both beautiful fun cars but when it comes down to working, fine tuning, driving, and saftey regulations i would take the 280( once again without the bumpers)
  8. i would try some basic stuff to... possibly blow compressed air back in the lines? something could be clogging it ( happened to me). If i were you i would just research this topic because its been brought up many times here.
  9. Well it could be sucking in air and causing some suction and fuel mixture issues. But once you get that replaced see if its getting spark if it doesnt start.
  10. check to seee if its getting gas at the lines and if not try blowing compressed air through them because they may be clogged, also see if its gettin spark at the ignition coil bu pulling the coil wire out of the Distributor cap and holding it 1/4 of an inch above some metal ( either the fender or unibody). If itzs getting spark there then move onto the plugs and remove a plug put the wire back on the plug and hold it above the fender/ unibody to see if its sparking. Once uve done this give me your results and we can take it form there
  11. thanks for the response i think it looks kinda like shiny poop but i gotta see it on a car before i can judge it =)
  12. does anyone have this color on their Z? my 280 came from the factory with this color and i wanted to see how it looked... Im leaning more towards yellow ( like lamboghini yellow ) but i like to see Z's with the factory colors. If anyone has a Z with this color pics would be appreciated! =)
  13. haha i had this solid silver colored shifter knob. The whole car was a bit modified before i purchased it ( rims, tires, paint, suspension, new EFI, new fenders.) so i figured they guy just changed the shifter knob... guess not! =) anyways i put a 240 shifter knob on it because the silver one just wasnt cutting it for me =P

heh keep goin we may have sumthin here! ... i just cant even think about it tho.. it really ticks me off when a problem like this get no publicity except what i mentioned earlier. Most news stations just say " Gas prices are increasing steadily and we cant tell you why,if or when they will drop!" Ok now ill stop... but im still mad
