Bummer
Well you can't stop other drivers though, I have no fear with my own driving but the other idiots out there worry me. Nice article though, but it still concerns as to how far in that pole went in that picture.

Rubber and Hoses Replacement question
I replaced my fuel overflow and heater / air hoses with rubber hoses purchased at the local parts store with no issues, I don't think pre bent ones would have been any easier. Suppose if you are keeping it original though.

Seals for inside the door frames
Hi, I bought a complete seal kit from StrictlyZ but it didn't contain the seals for inside the door frame (see picture) Any ideas on where to get these? Also anyone know what is happening with StrictlyZ (they don't seem to reply to my order emails)? Thanks, Ivan

There is only 39 real ones, one went for $14M USD to a Japanese businessman once. I believe they hold the worlds most expensive car title. I like those kits and support anyone who does them. Z-point: as you can see there is a fine line between z owners who like or dislike these kits that's why I was unsure with you original post. Here is a guy who has done a good job on his kit: http://hybridz.org/Review/0002/Ferrari_GTO.htm

Turbo vs Stroker? whats better?
lordbiotree, I think the stroker build ends up around the 10:1 compression mark and you would really want around 8:1 compresssion for a turbo setup, so you will need to lower the compression some how and all the rest that goes with turboing a NA car. There are some posts here and probably HybridZ.org on turboing a NA car.

Turbo vs Stroker? whats better?
opps that's right SAE is also known as GROSS and it was superseded with NET from 1971 ish. NET is the hp rating with all engine components (except for drive line componnets) I think? I would think only the 240's were measured in SAE where as the 260's, 280's were in NET? If that's so then the 150hp rating is a bit higher than it would be if it was measured the same way the latter Z's were and still after all that is the fastest NA L6 Z!

Turbo vs Stroker? whats better?
hang on a second, I thought gross hp was just the basic engine and SAE was the engine + exhaust + intake?

Brand new Z owner - Door Lock Question
Hard to explain without visual aid, there are two closed positions on the doors (when you close the door you shoud hear two clicks) the first position / click lowers the door opening mech a bit and the second position / click lowers a bit more. In it's first position the lock latch mech is too low to lock the door opening mech in place. The second, lower position allows the lock latch mech to lock the door opening mech in place.

Turbo vs Stroker? whats better?
This guy has 400hp from his zxt (he is also a member of this site I believe): http://www.geocities.com/spized1969/ There is another guy on this site with a stroker with 235RWHP, I don't think you would get more than that out of it, at say 25% driveline loss that's over 300hp at the flywheel and it's hard to get more than 100hp / litre from a NA carbed engine. The RB26DETT will supply 400RWHP relatively easy but there are cheaper options (but as you said the issue will be availability) such as RB20DET and RB25DET, they are much cheaper than the RB26 (the RB20 is $800USD over here compared to $3500 for the RB26) and this guy has 360RWHP from his (I think it just has a T04 air compressor / T03 turbine hybrid + new ECU): http://www.members.optushome.com.au/charleswilliams/ As for the availability issue, someone has said the skylines containing these engines will be sold in the US soon.

Turbo vs Stroker? whats better?
I have never seen a supercharger put out more that about 7psi is that a supercharger's limit or is that just because they are usually on v8's that can't take more that 7psi? Also I have seen several RB26DETT's engines (in GTR's) putting out 1300hp+, there is one a couple of blocks down from me that has 850hp (ish) that's what, 430% more hp (well I suppose there is other stuff done to it as well) but still it's not uncommon to see some turbo engines (with a bigger IC, turbo and engine management) with 14.7 even 21.7 psi so that should be 100% - 150% more hp? Also if your racing it, it won't get low enouth that the turbo lag would matter would it? what turbo engine are you thinking of? and how much do you want to spend? and do you have a target hp figure?
