  1. Your car looks great! The other phrase to never use when making a deal with the panel shop is "Work it in as you can". Fifty two months and counting. Almost ready for paint!
  2. Possibly an ignition timing issue???
  3. Congratulations on the find and welcome to "Z"world! JLP

I just received the latest photos of the car. It is almost ready for paint. They are going to complete the seam sealer and then the treatment of the bottom, (primer, paint, paintable under coat, paint), then it will be ready for paint.
  6. PM me with the price if you are wanting to sell as a complete kit. Thanks JLP
  7. Anyone in the Mcminnville, OR area??:classic:
  8. We had a similar set up on our 50's, the carbs are linked throttle body to throttle body directly and the throttle cable is connected to the front carb. The direct link between the throttle shafts are adjustable, controlling the input as to allow you to balance the carbs. jlp
  9. I am on vacation at my lake house near Cookville, TN. We will be heading back to Indiana on the 30th but hope to drive into Nashville on the 28th to meet some of the folks. Hope to see you all there. JLP
  10. Or just buy a 17mm crows foot, a lot cheaper and does make the job easier!
  11. The throttle plates on my 44's do have 175 stamped on them and it is on the manifold side. Couldn't you just measure the diameter of the throttle body intake? JLP
  12. I purchased a set from Charlie last fall and had them shipped to Classic Datsun Motorsports for my project. I know there were some questions about the overall length of the pans, (full pans, short pans) ??? Les contacted Charlie directly and worked the problem out. You might email Les prior to purchase to make sure you get the correct pan for your project. JLP
  13. I will check my 44's tomorrow. If necessary I can check the markings on my 50's but I would have take a trip to my storage facility. JLP
  14. I am in the process of making an offer on the car contingent on it checking out. If he accepts my offer, "probably not", I plan to fly out and inspect it. If it gets that far I guess it will be too late to post the results of the inspection. jlp
  15. Part will be on its way Monday AM. JLP
  16. Randy, I have one it is from a 1970 Passanger door. Will that work? Do you need any of the other parts from this door? JLP
  17. Spitz17 This should get you close! I have attached a CAD DXF (drawing exchange file) JLP PS I have a 70 hatch laying around if you want to pay for packaging and shipment from Indiana! 70HVL.DXF

  20. Engines still available for the taking! :bandit: You can’t beat free!
  21. I have two 240 engines both running when removed. One is from a 1973 with under 100K and the other from a 1970 with under 60K miles. The cylinders were oiled when removed have been sitting under a tarp outside for a couple of years. Free to a good home, must pick up. PM me for details. JLP
  22. My communications with this seller has been bazaar at best. In trying to give him an Idea what a potential buyer for this car would want to know and be looking for. He came back with some of the most disconnected responses imaginable. Finishing with, “hey you know lonnie purcell ? ”, including the . Who the heck is Lonnie Purcell? Someone help this guy and maybe this car can be saved!
  23. I wanted to take a ride up to Michigan to see the car today. It would be an all day trip, not one you would take without confidence in the honestly of the seller. I have to agree with Jonathan, I don’t believe I would take a long drive to deal with this individual. I asked the engine ID plate question and got the same answer as Jonathan but I also asked the simple question of where I can see the car in person. That would seem to be a simple question but the answers were as follows. “the car is here in GR..if you need to see it thats fine..give me your phone number..also I added more imput in my description....I talked to the previous owner ..he had it 20 years and says it original ..I dont see that plat and I think it should be there too...it is a low nubered car..I'm wondering if I have to get a hold of nissian..the plate ..I'll ask him tomarrow..in the door and on the dash match..I want that plate or athentifcation from nissan..maybe he has the plate..I'll ask him tomarrow” That is a direct copy and paste! I guess that GR is Grand Rapids. I am probably making another missed the “Treasure Find” mistake:cry: but I don’t think I’m up for dealing with this seller.
  24. I may take a ride up to Michigan to take a look tomorrow. I am waiting to hear back from the owner. jlp
  25. I believe the key to the effectiveness of my wink mirrors was: first adjustment, the angle of each of the five mirrors was adjustable, secondly if you look at the photos of 29 car back in the 70’s almost 1/3 of the top of the windscreen was blacked out allowing for the mirrors to be viewed without distractions.
