  1. What kind of grease do you use?
  2. I bought the black ones, only the picture is the generic red. I don't know if they have graphite in them though. Edit: this was taken from my auction's desc. and i bought Black: For those applications where component twisting typically occurs, our line of black HYPER-FLEX polyurethane products contain graphite. This graphite impregnation delivers a self-lubricated effect, reducing the need to lubricate the components. So i guess i'm good.
  3. Just placed an order, that price was great. $130 for the kit that everyone else charges at least $190 for. I paid with a CC just in case any funny business happens. Will see.
  4. Anyone ever deal with these guys on Ebay? The price seems too good to be true. They have 98% feedback and sell a tun of stuff it seems (over 5000 in feedback), but it seems they wizz at least 16 of those customers off a month (Judging by their negative feedback). Just looking to see if anyone here had a positive buy from them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7965097213&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
  5. Well around here i'm getting quotes of $37.99 for a stock coil, the MSD is on ebay new for $34.99. So it's just cheaper, as well as more volts.
  6. Why wouldn't the car start? Arent you supposed to put them together?
  7. So i've been doing some searching and can't find answers for what i'm after... 1) I see MSD has two different part #'s for their blaster 2 coils, anyone know the correct one? I've got a 240 that i'm putting an E12-80 dizzy in. 2) Will i loose my tack by putting the E12-80 and blaster coil in (eliminating the Balast)? Every thread on the subject only says how to hook it up (Distributor). They say nothing of if the tach will still work. Thanks for any help, Jay
  8. Glad to hear you fixed it. Sometimes we never check the most obvious.
  9. I've been seeing those on ebay and it pisses me off every time. I paid like $89 for the one from MSA and started seeing those shortly after...
  10. Why? Not being a d***, just don't know a lot about springs. Please elaborate on your answer.

Well let me know what he said as well, as he was not specific with what he told me.

That was straight from Gabriel, so i don't know who told you that.

He told me any "Tapered" lug nuts would do.

Doesn't anyone care how there car handles on this site? It seems like everyone is picking tires by the way they look instead of performance... On another note my rewinds will be here this week, and by the looks of the orange car i cant wait!
  15. What size did the spacer need to be? Also, Where do you get pads. I know your not in the US, but i've been doing some searching and it seems that it's next to impossible to get pads in the states. What would be a fair price for these calipers? Thanks
  16. Hi guys, I've got someone with a set of FIA 4 piston calipers. They were offered as an upgrade through datsun and work with solid rotors. Anyone have any experience with these calipers? He tells me that their lighter than the toyota calipers and a direct bolt on as well. But i'd have to keep my solid rotors. What do you think? Are the toyota's a better upgrade?
  17. I'd say it depends on how long you want to keep the car. It sounds like you may have lost interest in it if your looking at 300zx's. I'd say if you want to keep the car for a long time after it's painted then spring for the $6K job. But if your already getting ancy thinking about a new car then just sell it. Or paint it, drive it for a while, then sell it.
  18. How do you ajust the cables Carl?
  19. Hi guys, Now that i got a chance to drive the Z i have realized that the choke sticks slightly on the rear carb. When the choke lever is released, both levers on the carbs return like normal except for the back one that binds 3/4 the way down. I have to take a long screwdriver and push on the lever, then it snaps/unbinds and returns the final 1/4 to it's position. Is this a common problem? What could be causing this? Could it be the cable or the actual carb? Let me know where i should start. Thanks, Jay
  20. Overall i'm very happy. Since i bought her i've been sorting out a lot of little bugs. This prevented me from driving more than a few blocks the day i bought her. I finally finished the alternator conversion today, so she was up and running. I went on about a 30 min cruise, got to go through all the gears, get her up to speed, take some turns, it was really enjoyable. The car feels exceptionally tight. The original PO really kept up on almost all mantainance stuff. The rear springs are shot though, i was bottoming out quite a bit. I have some new Tokicos that'll fix that A lot of wind/road noise comming from the hatch area as well (How could i fix that?) I was dissapointed with the power though. The car still needs a tune up, but i thought it would have felt much faster. Seems like it's a real chore to make power up top (Kinda slow/slugish). I hope the tune up and petronix i have planned fix that, she's definatly too slow for my taste :devious: Just thought i'd share, Jay

For the guys that bought rewinds from GGtyler on ebay, do they come with center caps?
  22. That was the longest ebay ad i've ever seen...
  23. What kind of wheels were on that white 240? Rewinds or Wantanabe's?
  24. With what, just water?
