Just got back from my friends house in jasper. we decided on a 3.1 litre for his 240 he doesnt have yet! argh! so jokingly, i say, "hey lets go to the Jasper Junkyard" to "find" a LD28 crank. yeah right. its jasper GA, like the smalled hickest city ever. So we get there, they are closed. but we *sneak* through the gate. we split up, and about 20 seconds later, i hear "HOLY SH*T" ran over, and there are FOUR, yes guys FOUR (4) Datsun Maximas, all diseal. I pop the hood on al 4 and yup. the whole engine is there. OMG!!!!! not to mention there was one non disel that i guess has the N47 maxima head... Next thing we know, a car drives up and yells, and we run back to the front, its the owner, and we calmy ask for all 4 engines and that head. he says ok. so we got to work. now im not good at math, but thats 3 LD28 cranks to sell on ebay, 4 diseal intakes, and one maxima head. add that up guys...cause we only spent $500 on everything.... MOOOWHAHAHAHAHA

ohh jeeze. well i got a refund for the adapters...moving on to another type of wheel. the pics look nice though

f*ck. spudea, you just made realize something. they arent 4x100 bolt pattern. great. so what do i do? i emailed modermotorsports, i just bought the things last night, so hopefully he hasnt shipped them out by now. if these WONT work, im going to be SOO FREAKIN' pissed off. ohh not to mention. i weighed the wheels. my spare tire without a hubcap that is the stock steel wheel with a 195 on it weighs 34.5 lbs. my new wheel with a 205 on it weighs 35lbs. so it isnt *that* heavy compared to stock.

OMG. i just set them up against my wheels, and took some pics. they will be here soon. Good god in heaven they look GOOD. bambi, they are rice, but i tell you this. free barley used wheels free non used tires $200 to spend on modernmotorsports adapter... ILL TAKE IT!

i ran a 15.096 on a non-tuned 280Z 2+2 with specs kinda like that but not really. id say mid 15's.

you sure? cause i dont want to get the adapters in the mail, freak out cause they are here, jack the car up in less than 2 seconds, and slide the wheels on then my lugs dont fit. cause that would SUCK.

what kind of lugnuts? where would i get them spudea?

spudea, he gave them too me! i helped him change out the break system on his toyota T100 and he gave me these. (got him $400 worth of parts for free). i cant just sell them on ebay. we both cant wait to see what they look like. im going to paint that ridge in the center of the spoke gunmetal greay. besides, i allready bought the adapters! thanks for reply though.

my friend is offering me free wheels for my Z. they came off his old grand am. they are konig 6 spoke's that are a silver color, with a deep groove down each spoke. we went to put them on today, and BAH! they dont fit. the tire rubs against the sidewall, and the lug studs dont even reach the wheel (by about 1 inch.) well the tires mounted on them are P205-65-R15's, and the wheels themselves are 15x6.5 JJ. on the back of them, they've got an "00" on one spoke, "10" on another, "No.099" on another. i dont know what the "ofset" is.... will these wheels fit with ease if i get a "spacer" for it? you can tell, ive rebuild an entire Z but i have NO idea about wheels and tires. i knew i would ask questions when it came time. :paranoid: Ok guys, it looks like they are Konig Verdict's. They only come in 40mm ofset, so that means i need a 40mm spacer, right? the modern motorsports one? http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=6 what will happen when i switch springs, cause soon im going to get either tockio springs or the MSA springs. ohh jeeze. im lost. damn wheels and tired.

make SURE you are doing the compression tests right. you can get a lot more PSI if you follow all the rules! but still, those numbers are great for a lot of miles.

i dont think they look anything alike. the 350Z looks like a lonely prostitute on the street corner; you know, the big azzed ones that dont get any "love"? and the 240-280Z's are like the hotties in high school that put out on-call. given ive never driven a 350Z cause im only 18 and dont have time to go to the dealer to get a test drive, i still love my 280Z even if its a 2+2. i agree with hls30. side embles near the rear quarter or headlight buckets. also, weight watchers for the rear. then i *might* consider buying it. the sad part? when im yall's age and buy my son an old Z, its going to have to be the 350Z to restore. you know what i mean? if i buy him a 240Z, they will be over 50years old, and we wont be able to find any parts!! (long live MSA!)

yeah, mine wont lock unless doors are closed...could be a 2+2 thing heheheh

BTW, are you sure your locking mech. is working right? its impossible to lock my doors unless the door is completely closed. that helps me cause with my new weather stripping, if i open the passenger door from the drivers seat, and close it, i can just press the locking button to see if ive closed it all the way. P.S.- did you post this on zcar.com? they would probbaly make fun of you. ha.

are you kidding?? those are *good* numbers for an engine with a LOT of miles one them...are you getting oil consumption? did you do the compression test correctly on a hot engine with no sparkplugs and throttle wide open? those numbers are only +/-10 PSI which isnt bad at all. stock is about 170psi. ive got 185 cause i've bored the engine out and shaved the head and decked the block....

some user in here is *in* the process of doing it and he said he would do a write up. there are pictures in the archives i believe...do a search.

i agree completely...its still pretty funny however...stock vs. not stock...

ohh and spudea, doesnt an engine swap count as non stock too? seems tony installed an engine eith FLATTOP PISTONS in it if i remember correctly. yeah tony, thats REAL stock for the 76' 2+2....righttt..... FAT LIAR! HAHA!

ohh i carefulley cleaned the oil pickup tube bolt holes with break cleaner, dont worry. im just mad i have to take the oil pan off again and go buy more RTV...

yeah, i had to take the pan off about ohhh 900miles ago becuasue the oil pickup had come loose and was sucking up air. so i dropped the pan, locktited the bolts, and put it back on. then i got a new pulley since the old one split apart, now ive got this. argh. ive had more problems in the last 2000miles, and there are only 2600 miles on the car!!!!!!!!!!!!!! heheheheh amature rebuilds. arent they great?
