Finally, my Twice Pipes exhuast system is installed.. but problems.. Pics inside
i went to midas and checked to see what it would cost to do an exhaust system from the header back and they said $400-$500! but that included a flowmaster muffler with all 2.5". as for how to get it away from your tire, did you try adjusting the bracket to pull it away? you may have to jiri-rig it, but i know what a pain it is to have your tire melt off on your exhaust pipe.. *edit... btw, what are the diameters of the pipes? i looked on MSAs website and they didn't say.... also, are you running stock manifold, 3 into 2, or 6 into 1 header? just curious...

Wanted, your opinion
check here at motorsport auto: http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=7AD1 i am personally going to get the 4th or 5th one; the fiberglass or urethane with brake cooling ducts. as for what rims, i have my 15x7 AREs (you can check out my pics) and i like them a lot. otherwise, i'd check out some panasports... they always look good. now the louvres: i personally don't care too much for them aesthetically, but getting into a hot car at the end of the day brings the thought into my mind that they might be a good thing.. just my .02

got my AIR CLEANERS!
no i didn't disconnect the pcv... and as for the driveability: it's great! loud, too..... but still great! i got these so that i wouldn't have to get MORE air cleaners later on for competition
-
got my AIR CLEANERS!
well.... my stock air cleaner is messed up: the flap won't stay on "summer" and i have to keep fixing that.... as for the filter on the PCV, i just plan on keeping that there until i can get an overflow canister. i also wanted a little more airflow than the closed cleaner could provide, and i know that i'm sucking in more hot air now, but my engine was having asthma with the stock cleaner ... i haven't switched over to the electronic dist yet, but i have mine from the 79 awaiting installation.

got my AIR CLEANERS!
welll.... if anyone happened across my last 2 threads in this forum, you will know about my situation... i decided to share some pics and stuff since i got 'em on! it was a little difficult b/c i had to drill holes in the air cleaners to allow for the carb vacuum lines and for the brake vacuum assist line. you would think that would be all, but when i put my front air cleaner on to figure out where i was going to put the holes i put it on upside down (so i ended up with holes on the wrong part ) well, i made do and squeezed 'em on! ok, enough blabbing. here's my dirty a$$ engine compartment!

Your opinion on this front air dam (sweet)
back on subject, i don't care too much for it. i would have to agree with the majority in that it makes the car looked "ZX-ed"

SUs or DGVs?
welll..... i had just ordered my k&n air cleaners and air horns from MSA 2 days ago, and today i went to pep boys to get some vacuum nipple thingys because i'm taking off my air pump. as i was leaving, this kind man in a 280z pulls up and wants to check out my 240. sooooo... i pop the hood and he was telling me that he has these webers from his 260 that he's giving away! so, moral of the story is: i have these weber DGVs with new linkages (but no manifolds) and the air cleaners on the way. should i just use my SU air cleaners and air horns for now (until i get manifolds) or should i send them back (anyone had to do this with MSA?) and save the $$ to get the manifolds? i know the trade-off here is power for fuel-efficiency, but what do you guys think?

porting round head to square?
i'll do that if i can find someone that wants to trade for my N47, otherwise i'm el broke-o.... so basically what i'm trying to ask is "is it possible to port the N47 to have square ports without MAJOR troubles?"
-
porting round head to square?
i have an N47 L28 and i was wondering if anyone knows if i can port the exhaust to be square? i know it's going to be a lot of work, but i don't want to have to get headers for the N47 head (with round ports) and i don't want to have to go through the valve work with my E88 head. basically, i want to port match the head to a set of square port headers because the round port headers i found aren't as nice as the square port ones... anyway, thanks for the help!

Higher compression, better? Why?
yes... slightly. just as long as you have good duration (overlap)
