  1. I'm glad it's over as well. I am a registered Independent and I voted for McCain because we need to have checks and balances in our government. With a Democratic majority in both the house and the senate and now a Democrat president, I have concerns that it's going to be like the Carter Administration. But we'll see, it's going to be interesting.

Solid with no rust, interior dried out & damaged from the sun, came from the USA.....sounds like my latest project, your Z must be from Arizona also .

Yeah, this was already discussed a couple times in another thread (see link below). Low-rust California Zs going for next to nothing. I can't believe that hardly any of them have been sold yet. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=24157&page=4
  4. Unbelievable, the guy is still trying to sell the 30-plus Zs again. Isn't that a Porsche 928 in the background of the third picture? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___240Z-71-Crushing-30-Early-Zs-Get-yours-NOW_W0QQitemZ220300307007QQddnZCarsQ20Q26Q20TrucksQQddiZ2282QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item220300307007&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A727|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

Hi Biddljj, Did you know that moose aren't native to Colorado? Back in 1980, moose from Wyoming and Utah were transplanted here. Just an interesting fact.
  6. Well, regardless of the tasteless Ebay listing, it's still a California Series I car that is going for next to nothing. Looks like the original '240z' emblems behind the rear quarter windows were replaced with the later 'Z' emblems.

Love the blue interior. Whether it's in a blue or white '70-'71 car, the blue is definitely different and fairly rare. I can't wait to get my newest project going which is the same color combo as the subject car.
  8. I thought the '72 model year was considered the best 240 model by most Z enthusiasts, not the '73.
  9. TexasZ, Yes, definitely a bargain at $266.00 per car plus transportation. I wouldn't be surprised if someone local would buy all the cars for that price and resell them. I agree, with you, $3,500.00 is too much for just a '69 shell. However, I'll bet that since it's a Calif car that it probably doesn't have much rust and could be worth a good $2,500 plus.

Hi Bonzi, Yes, it is rough, but is definitely restorable. Once it's restored, the blue on blue will be awesome!
  11. Very interesting, Mike. Now it looks like someone asked the seller how much it would take to buy all all 30 cars. The seller's response: $8,000.00. Considering these are California cars, that is an excellent price. The buyer just needs to have a lot of room to store the cars.
  12. I agree with E, do it right and weld in new floor pans. You can buy a set of new floor pans for about $300.00.
  13. Hi Mike, I know a great body & paint man who does very nice work. He did my son's and my two 240Zs. He's up in Arvada, so he's not too far away from you in Erie. If interested, send me a PM and I will provide you with his contact info.
  14. If it were an HLS30 and you lived in North America, I would say to part it out. But since it's an S30, I would try to restore the car.
  15. Hi Jeff, Can you post some pics of your cars?
  16. Just out of curiosity, based on the 1 to 5 rating system, what is the range in value of a '69 production 240Z? I realize that the double-digit cars are going to be the most rare and depending on condition, generally the most valuable, but what are we talking about in terms of dollar value?
  17. Zero Z, I wish I could say that I took the picture, but I didn't take it. I found the pic on this French Z-Car website: http://240z.free.fr/index.php?/category/20. You can tell the car is an HLS30 by the front bumper guards and probabaly was taken in the Rocky Mountain West somewhere. Judging from the landscape, it looks like it could have been taken somewhere near here in Colorado or maybe Wyoming or Montana. This one deffinately fits the 'A picture can tell a thousand words' saying.
  18. Porsche 911 Turbo Coupe & Turbo Cabriolet. Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG
  19. Good idea, Poindexter. Images of Z-cars just rusting away in the elements, just isn't right. These cars need to be saved or at the very least their parts need to be saved.
  20. You bet! All those California Zs with not much rust... I'm sure a lot of our fellow Z brethren in the U.S. 'Rustbelt' or 'Saltbelt' feel the same way.
  21. Of all places, I found the pics on this French Z-Car website: http://240z.free.fr/index.php?/category/20
  22. Judging from the license plates, this junkyard looks to be in California somewhere:

Speaking of Zs in France, check out the link below: http://209.85.171.104/translate_c?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://240z.free.fr/picture.php%3F/2237/category/2008_LMC&prev=/search%3Fq%3Ddatsun%2Bfrance%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG&usg=ALkJrhgn0bVNn7AVUrGLk0BLs4LIZHTNfg
  24. I agree with you, Arne -the buyer got a great deal on this car.
  25. Previous owner was Jerry Seinfeld......is that a 280Z I see on in the garage? Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300244400516
