Wanted : L28ET
Point taken but what do you think of an E88 or early E31 chamber design over an N42? Have you read about Tod Kaneko's 240z? He's pushing almost 500 Horses apparently in his L28 E88 head turbo engine.

Finally My 240z Video.
Well guys i hope you like it as much as I do . It's a video of my 240z going along. About 2mb I manged to get it down from the raw 12mb it was so it did loose some quality. However you should be able to see it easily enough. You can hear those dual pipes go . http://www.geocities.com/gavin_doolan/Gav240zDualPipes.avi Server 1 http://members.optusnet.com.au/~gavindoolan/Gav240zDualPipes.avi Server 2 right click to save and if you can't get it working you'll need a DivX codec for it. You can get it from www.divx.com .

Battery Tray
Hmm looks a bit nasty get to it asap. Remove the battery get a wire brush go crazy buckle your nuckles and clean it up best as possible then spray it in POR-15 or another rust inheibitor etc.. to seal it until you repray the car. have you checked chassis rail below it?

Engine 2
Hope that brown piece of cardboard isn't a tempory battery . All indications are that this is an early Z good score, keep that valve cover won't you when you take this engine out. The one that reads (Nissan 2400 OHC). Also keep the engine if you have the space.

Passenger Floorboard 1
under that plastic tarp stuff is where you will find the rust. Will you remove it? if so make sure u clean up under there .

Should I Be Unhappy About This?
I would have thought a wire brush onto the camshaft is a no no since the wear pattern between lash pads and camshaft are so delicate you could disrupt things there couldn't you? I'm not engine expert either still learning just thought it was a bit harsh on something like a camshaft.

Wanted : L28ET
Ahh but are the flow characteristics of the P90 and N42 the same? I believe they are but there is some debate about that.

Starting problems
Nothing complex but they need constant maintenance. I think if you replace the points the condenser on the side of the distributor the rotor button and dizzy cap as well as spark plugs you will get alot better ignition. Infact I guarantee it, just the points alone can transform the car but they are a bit tricky to set up. Sticky chokes are the norm unfortuantely unless you plan on rebuilding them don't loose sleep over it, (I have before) half kidding there. You should be able to do all that for around $60 I'd say if not less and it will be more reliable, don't know how many ignition problems I've had with points dizzies. She should start nicer but don't expect first key turn action, the spark is alot weaker with the points than the electronic one. I think the ballast resistor reduces the voltage. Let us know how you go.

SU carbys?
Your right Mellow you do have to do an engineer report infact I think it may be illegal to have a turbo charged L28 in your 240z but legal to have a turbo l24 in their. SOmeone once said this haven't been through the proceedure so not 100% on that seems a bit silly. Especially if you can have an RB26 in a Z. This is for victoria as I say only heard this once not 100% sure.

Melbourne Z shops again

g-nose years
I know of a guy with an authentic gnose that constantly goes over 100mph never noticed that but he also had his reinforced after someone reversing into it one day. I was pretty sure it was a lower part of the gnose which was poly but couldn't remember.

240z RB26 Gnose.
Yeah there are alot of Skylines here in Aus too many infact. I think this is mainly because of the taxes involved in new cars in Japan and the fact that Australia is right hand drive just as Japan means they can export them here and to be honest there is a big market for them. Second hand imports are everywhere in Australia . I no longer have that 260z either , I now of course own a 240z there the best . RB engines are pretty well priced with the exception of the Rb26 which is still expensive.

240z RB26 Gnose.
I realise alot of us Aussie's will know of this car or have read this article but I think alot of other people will enjoy reading about this car. I have never met the owner but would like to one day just seen him driving on the street when I was in my 260z . It's a very nice car Enjoy. http://www.fullboost.com.au/cars/readerscars/sinisha240z.html

N42 Head Cyl 6
I never noticed valves with a Nissan symbol on them before, mind you i've never actually pulled the head on an engine. Are these aftermarket performance valves?
-
g-nose years
From 73' onwards they were replicas, as Alan always says the better stuff comes from japan. Also the original Gnose was partly made of a rubber compound and is said to be of very good quality. I have always wanted one but am not so sure about the fibreglass ones. I think if I ever get one it will have to be an original one.

L28 questions
His car is truely awesome and the attention to detail is what I love most it shows passion more than ricey bodykits . He deburred the block HPC coated everything from pistons to valves to anything he could. I really enjoyed that page anyone know how to contact him? I had his email but lost it not sure if he even uses it anymore .
