I'm enquisitive now no fair. I bet he bought something from the Z car Nationals there's fine machines there too bad I missed out. I was browsing the photo's in your gallery. He may regret it but I could not modify a car such as his and feel like i wasn't doing anything wrong. i'm still contemplating turbo charging mine as am not sure if I could do it. Anyawy good luck with the sale dude.
  3. http://fangartists.com/pics/Jack2.mpeg http://fangartists.com/pics/Jack3.mpeg These are video's of a friend of mine doing his thing. I hope he doesn't mind me posting them here. He's running a L28 turbo and as you can see it has no trouble creaming the competition. www.geocities.com/spized1969/ for more info. BTW that geocities site the Datsun Z garage does give times if you check the main page. It tells you he's done low 14's high 13's down the 1/4 mile. With his old setup he's changed the setup since according to his site but has not updated info. If you do the turbo setup right it should make the car easier to drive with the fuel injection setup and give you plenty of power. I'd go for that instead of bastardizing it with a v8. Just my opinion.
  4. Looks like a carnival float . Really makes me wonder sometimes but I think the ghost rider still takes the cake as the most wonderful heap of $h!t I've ever seen. . Is it just me or is Ebay becomming a comical car sales site for this club???

  11. http://zdriver.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4857 Personally I find it very hard to believe it does wonders, I'm wondering if anyone has heard seen or experienced what this does? I personally have used McGuires car polish then Canauba wax over the top of that. I do it all by hand as a orbital polisher I find leaves alot of swirl marks. Anyone got a product to share or tips to make your paint look stunning. I find my red car lots of hard work to keep shiny.

  15. I find everywhere you go in life someone will always jump at the chance to make you feel smaller if it makes him/her feel bigger. It's unfortunate but that's the way life is the best to deal with him is to yes report him and second ignore them. People like this often thrive on attention taking that away from them is like taking a lollipop off an infant. I've never really got into the Zcar.com forums I used to use Zdriver but in recent months have found it rather useless. This site has definately helped me in a number of ways and my attitute towards helping others out basically goes something like this. "If you want to be informed inform others" what I mean is I approach every thread and if I feel I can help I do all I can. I am very grateful when the same favour is returned to me. Even if sometimes I may not have mentioned it. So thanks to all who have contributed.

Unfortunately the shape of the 2+2 determines that not alot can be swapped over. The inner door skins are different as the 2+2's doors are different in length. The roof line is different so I suspect that the padding on the roof is not changeable. (mine had a sunroof in the middle so I didn't bother taking it out). The panel in the boot across the rear lights will change ok. The panel inside the rear hatch will change to any other car also. The inner quarter panels are useless. The seats however are the same as all cars. The dash is doable if it's even worthwhile. I have a feeling the centre console is longer on the 2+2 but I'm not 100% as I own a 240z. It definately wouldn't work on an earlier 240z as the centre console is shorter. Basically the 2+2 is the same dimension wise from the front of the car to the front windscreen from there on it's got so many differences that if your looking for a 2+2 donor car it's probably not worth while. Any further questions just give me a yell.:classic: PS: Mechanically though it's a different story. Diff, Gearbox, Engine etc all changable, Driveshafts are not.

Gee it says your in melbourne so I'd recommend going to see Warren at Zworx his address is 6A Beach Ave , Mordialloc, Vic PH: 9587 5500 I should be going in there tomorrow 17th of April if he has my new rechromed front bumper in.
  21. Anyone know what's involved in installing them? I know from around 76-77 here in AUs we got a Hazard switch. It's pretty useful to have especially when wiring up an alarm system so that the indicators blink when u lock her. I've always wanted a Hazard Switch :classic: . BTW mines a 72 also.

ALan your absolutely right I should have thought about it a bit more, I apologize to anyone who took offence. I understand that your gripe is over his claim to fame for the S30 Series design. I have read previous posts regarding this. I know we keep bugging you but maybe this is your chance to publish something to set the record straight or at least give your view to the S30 Story. You've certainly enlightened me in regard to the cars history. Don't I understand this, The guy who owns the wreckers for Z parts has even said that the Z was designed by Goertz how do I correct someone who's been working with Z's for longer than I've been into them? Admittedly he told me that some people make it their life quest to learn all they can about the Z. He is obviously not one of those. By the way ALan as much as I admire originality I can't stand the skinny tyres that came on nearly every S30 Z. I love Fat Deep Dish wheels. Even if it was for a TV show I reakon i'd have my shiney chrome wheels over my Dull Datsun hubcaps but I still see your point :classic: .

Alan I understand your frustration regarding A Goertz the Nazi :classic: . Maybe I shouldn't say that no offence intended. You have to understand the makers of the programme are probably not true enthusiasts and have a set time of which they spend doing research. Because the history of this car deals alot with Japan it can make finding out the "Truth" very hard. If it were not for people like you I myself would still believe the Goertz myth. Yes it's misinforming and people like Matsuo are unfortunately not credited for a good job done. If the books out there say Goertz designed the car then most likely these journalists are gonna believe it and repeat that information. Anyway that's just my 2 cents from my research on the Z myself. Is there anywhere or any books I could get a hold of that would tell a more accurate history of the Z. Ive been to the technical bookshop in my city central and found a good book on the Z shame I didn't buy it. Forgot what it was called but remember it was a blue book. Gav
